Dramatic Plane Landing Incident Explained:
July 12th 2021:
The challenges faced during the approach to Paro's runway 33, with warnings like "BANK ANGLE" and "Sink Rate! Pull Up!" didn't deter the Tri-M.G. Intra Asia Airlines Boeing 737-300 freighter. Despite the warning the crew continued the approach resulting in a hard touch down.
According to Unicef the aircraft was carrying Moderna vaccines to Bhutan that were donated within the COVAX initiative.
TRAFFIC NOTIFICATION
This is to inform general public that following traffic arrangement shall be put in place for the 116th National Day Celebration:
1. Road Closures:
Norzin Lam, Changlam, and Chhogyal Lam shall remain closed for all types of vehicle (except for Authorized vehicles) from 16th evening (1800hrs) till 17th December midnight.
2. December 17, 2023: There will be a shuttle bus service starting from 0300 hours in the morning from designated parking area to the event venue. We kindly request all to park your vehicles in the designated parking areas and avail the shuttle bus service.
3. Following are the shuttle bus service points/designated parking:
a. Motithang School Ground: Free shuttle bus services from this point to OLD UNDP Roundabout.
b. Gyelyong Tshongkhang Parking: Free shuttle bus service from this point to OLD UNDP Roundabout.
c. RCSC Parking: Free shuttle bus service from this point to OLD UNDP Roundabout.
d. South Thimphu: Free shuttle bus service from Babesa, Depsi, Lungtenphu to old taxi parking.
4. Parking Areas Near Celebration Venue:
a. YHSS/Lungtenzampa School/BCTA Parking: Public park their vehicle at YHSS/Lungtenzampa school parking and walk to the event venue.
b. Multi-Level Parking near BOD and Druk Pizza: Public park their vehicle in Multi-Level Parking near BOD and Druk Pizza walk to the event venue.
General Request:
To avoid traffic congestion in the core area of the city, the Traffic Division, RBP and Bhutan Construction & Transport Authority would like to request the cooperation and support of the general public on the following during 16-18 December 2023:

Her Royal Highness the Gyalsem has been named Sonam Yangden Wangchuck.
Sonam is a Bhutanese name denoting merit, longevity and good fortune. The name Yangden, meaning precious jewel, signifies prosperity and wellbeing.
The naming ceremony was held at Tashichhodzong on the anniversary of His Majestyโs accession to the Golden Throne in 2006. The ceremony was presided over by His Holiness the Je Khenpo. His Majesty the Fourth Druk Gyalpo, Their Majesties the Queen Mothers and Members of the Royal Family were present for the ceremony.
Representatives of the Dratshang offered Ku Sung Thugten Mendrel. The Dzongdas, Thrizins, and Lam Netens of twenty dzongkhags, representing the people of Bhutan, made buelwa offerings.
Her Royal Highness, the third child of Their Majesties The King and Gyaltsuen, was born on September 9 this year.

The new-born Princess is the third child and first daughter of Their Majesties.

A fire broke out at the army camp near Changjiji colony.

The helicopter is reported to have crashed at around 2.30. When the local residents rushed to the site of the crash, mother and daughter were found dead.
However, the father and another daughter (elder) who were also passengers are taken to their house which is located close to the crash site. They are reported to be physically fine but in the state of shock.
The pilot has apparently suffered leg injuries and kept at a house which is about 5 minutes walk.
Meanwhile, the Health team from Lhedi BHU is on half way through that takes about 5 hours walk.
Sources say that when the helicopter maneuvered to land, a sudden gust of wind made lose its control.
The tragic incident has occurred at the close proximity of the helipad.
