Prime Minister Addresses Abaconians ahead of Hurricane Dorian

Now an intense Cat 5 Hurricane with sustained winds at an incredible 180 MPH Hurricane Irma is approaching the northern Leeward Islands, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico. Hurricane watches have been released for Dominica and Haiti along with the Southern Bahamas and Turks and Caicos Islands. As Irma continues on its path west at 14 MPH not much has changed with projections. The major concern is at what point will the storm make a northward turn which depends largely on the timing and strength of a high pressure system moving in to the Southern US. While projections tend to move the storm further west and away from Abaco, we must remain vigilant as there remains a possibility of an earlier turn northward which would bring this life threatening storm directly into our neighborhood. Abaconians are advised to still make preparations and be prepared potentially for a Cat 5 Hurricane by the end of the week. While projections look more favorable for Abaco storms don't follow predictions and this is not a storm to underestimate.

Marsh Harbour Port Clean Up

A collaboration between the Administrator's Office, Gov't Dept's including Min. of Health and private citizens with the Abaco Chamber of Commerce are planning a clean up of the Marsh Harbour International Port this morning - currently underway.
