The First News Agencies World Congress Moscow 24-25 September 2004 During the period between 24-25 September 2004, the First World Congress of News Agencies was held in Moscow, Capital of the Russian Federation at the invitation of the Russian News Agency ITAR-TASS whish celebrated at the same time the one hundreth anniversary of its foundation. Tens of world news agencies attended the Congress during which several researches and studies were given concerning cooperation ways between organizations representing the five continents of the world and the defense of their rights. Included in the work agenda distributed by the Russian News Agency at the start of the Congress, formation of the World Council of News Agencies of all news agencies to get acquainted together. The Second News Agencies World Congress ESTEPONA (SPAIN) 24-28 October 2007 The World News Agency Congress should not be a political forum, instead its objective is to educate, inspire and support news agencies through a sharing of information and expertise. The Third News Agencies World Congress Argentina 19-24 October 2010 Between the periods 19-24 October 2010, the Third World Congress of News Agencies (NAWC) was held in Argentine at the invitation of the National Argentinean News Agency, TELAM, represented by Mr. Sergio Fernandez Nova. The Congress was attended by delegations representing 87 news agencies operating in the world’s continents beside 179 information personalities interested in news agencies work. The Fourth News Agencies World Congress 17-21 November 2013, Kingdom of Saudi Aravia, Riyadh he fourth News Agencies World Congress (NAWC) under the patronage of Saudi king Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz, themed "Re-inventing the News Agency in the 21st century" started in Riyadh on November 19. Organized by the SPA, the event is attended by top-ranked Saudi officials, as well as heads of more than 70 world leading news agencies. The head of Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the chairman of the Fourth World Congress Abdullah bin Fahd Al-Hussein said that the event is aimed at improvement of activity of news agencies, as they are the main producers of news in the world in spite of increasing emergence of new media. The 5th News Agencies World Congress 15-17 November, 2016 5th NAWC held in Baku, capital of Azerbaijan on 15-17 November 2016. Co-organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AZERTAC, these events bring together heads and representatives of about 100 news agencies, which shape the global information policy, international media experts, UN - UNESCO official, and representatives of regional media organizations. The slogan of the 5th News Agencies World Congress is “New Challenges for News Agencies”. The Congress features several sessions, including “The future of news consumption”, “News agencies – challenges and opportunities of new technologies and social media”, “News agency innovation”, “Training journalists for a multi-media future”, “Protecting the journalists’ mission: freedom, access, safety and conflict zones”. The Congress will see presentation of a photo album featuring nearly 600 photographs by the participating agencies in “News”, “Festivities” and “Sport” categories. The photo album was published through partnership between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and Baku Media Center. Azerbaijan State News Agency (AZERTAC) will hold the presidency of the News Agencies World Congress (NAWC) in 2016-2019.

6th NAWC will be hold in Sofia, capital of Bulgaria on 13-15 June 2019. Bulgarian Telegraph Agency (BTA) will hold the presidency of the News Agencies World Congress (NAWC) in 2019-2022.
