In our real world with limited time and resources, you might have to pick and choose where you put your resources. If your brand's social presence is just starting out, start with organic content. Some tips: ⏰ Accounts will need volume and consistency for organic content alone to have any cut-though. This means an investment of time and strategy! Social proof is so important to your marketing efforts, and will influence potential customer decisions. Recently, Director Mel gave some easy-to-action tips for collecting positive reviews for your business. Reviews are the gold standard of social proof, closely followed by UGC and then engagement.

📧 As part of the closing process for every job or invoice you should have a standard email with easily accessible links straight to your review listings and platforms.Make sure you include a thank you for being a customer, and ask for an honest review of your services. Be direct - don't assume the customer will intuit what you want.

💡 Don't leave it until the project is finished to ask. At every stage of the project (or set milestones across your business), you can remind your customer that you'd like a review - this helps them start formulating what they'd like to say if they'd prefer to wait until services/product is complete or arrives.

🚫 Yes, negative reviews are tough to receive, especially for small businesses. In reality, there will likely be a discrepancy between what is claimed and what actually happened but it's important that all feedback be acknowledged and answered. Even a short answer asking the person to contact you off-line to try to resolve shows a potential new customer that you are approachable and will work towards a resolution.
