We’re used to ALL the updates on social media, but these last few days have taken us all by surprise 😮

Flick through the carousel to get a rundown of all the changes we have seen on Instagram, as well as the news on TikTok ⛔️

The new grid layout on Instagram means that your curated squares are (or soon will be) rectangles. There’s a fix for any images that are looking odd, click on the three dots on the top right of the image and click “adjust preview”, click “fill” and choose from black or white background. A better fix is coming according to at Instagram. We’re waiting 😬

There’s some great new updates for Reels. We’ll be testing the longer durations as well as the Trial Reels to reach new audiences outside followers. We don’t have the update yet, we’ll let you know when we do 🤓

We’re looking forward to checking out the new Edits app too - about time! Should make life much easier for creators ⭐️

It feels like a full-circle moment as we introduce Kate, who’s joined us this summer as our Marketing Intern. Seventeen years ago, Kate was the key reason our founder, Trish Barry, started Mastermind Consulting. With a newborn daughter and a dream of creating a flexible yet impactful career, Trish took the leap to establish Mastermind.

That newborn is now 17 years old, entering her final year of high school and considering a career in communications, business, or law. Over the years, Kate has grown up alongside many of our incredible clients – she’s known some of you since before she could walk, and knows more about wine through osmosis than most double her age!

Not only is Kate exploring the world of marketing and communication with us, but she’s also a budding entrepreneur herself. Her own award-winning business, Scrunchie Munchies, is now in its seventh successful year as she continues to diversify and put business theory into practice.

We’re thrilled to have Kate on board, applying her talents and gaining hands-on experience in the field she’s so passionate about.

Strange Nature finds its origins in 0% alcohol New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wine. Using innovative spinning cone technology the alcohol is gently extracted from the wine while preserving the natural aromas and flavours. There's something quite humbling about standing and talking about wines made from vineyards planted in 1868. Watching the delight and wonder as people explore what's in their glass and are surprised at what they discover. Best's Wines - Great Western has been part of the Mastermind family for over 15 years and it never ceases to amaze us just how blown away people are when they taste some of these incredible wines.

The annual WCA Wine Communicator Awards recognise outstanding contribution to, and excellence in, wine communication in all its forms. A bittersweet day in the Mastermind office today as we bid a fond farewell and thank you to our Social Media Manager Melissa. Mel joined us in September 2019 and immediately brought a beautiful energy into the office. Her can-do attitude and willingness to learn, evolve and try new things on social media have delivered wonderful results for our Mastermind clients. So much has changed during the last four years, but what’s been steadfast is the determination to be part of the team and deliver results. You may be moving interstate, but we’ll always be here to enjoy a glass of Moscato on your visits to Sydney.

So, in Disney-themed style, we’re sending much gratitude and best wishes for the next chapter that awaits.

In the realm of pixels and posts, Melissa reigned,
A social sorceress, creativity unrestrained.
With Disney's magic and wine's sweet embrace,

We’re thrilled to advise that Mastermind Consulting, along with our client Giesen Wines has been nominated as a finalist for Best Wine Marketing Communications Campaign in the 2023 Wine Communicators of Australia Inc Awards for the work surrounding Giesen 0% Dry July campaign.

Low and no alcohol wines are such an evolving category, and it was a pleasure to work with Louella Mathews and the team Reign at the QVB to bring the 0% wine story to life over breakfast – because wine-not pair wine and food when your palate is freshest!

Ara Zero is one of the most awarded NOLO wines in the Australian market. We have thoroughly enjoyed educating media and consumers alike about these innovative wines.

To coincide with the launch of Holm Oak Vineyards' Top of Our Game wine tasting experience, our communications team have spent some time liaising with Australian media to inform them on the connection between Holm Oak and Australian tennis.

Many were intrigued by the story of how the trees planted at Holm Oak were used by the Alexander Racquet Company in the 1930s. The very same company who created the Wizard Tennis Racquet used by Australian tennis superstar, Jack Crawford.
