you already know: the Whipped Ricotta is a game-changer and should be part of the table for every order. we've also gotten the Lamb Kofta Plate before and it was every bit as juicy and flavourful as we remember. ๐Ÿ‘

as part of the newly released Spring menu, we had to grab the Moreton Bay Bugs, served with tomato ezme and garlic oil. you absolutely must take advantage of all the wonderful sauce and drizzle it over the bug meat, which are cooked to perfection and lifted out of their shells with ease. ๐Ÿฆž

for a sweet treat, the new Pistachio French Toast is fantastic. pistachio is having its moment lately and i am here for it!! toasted sweet brioche with a housemade pistachio mascarpone, topped with white chocolate snow, strawberries and chopped pistachios. decadent and heavenly, this is another must-order! ๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿ’š

visited over the weekend for a lil pick-me-up, the yellow theme is so cute! ๐Ÿ’› i opted for the Lox Bagel Sandwich and an Iced Einspanner ๐Ÿฅฏโ˜•

bagel was soft and generously loaded, and i really enjoyed the side of pickled slaw. the coff was good too, an Einspanner is a take on the classic hot German coffee which is just espresso layered with a thick layer of sweet whipped cream. i do love my coffee a lil sweet so it's perfect for me ๐Ÿซถ

a funky Japanese/Korean eatery $69 'Feed Me' menu is full of generous servings and delicious flavours. i really enjoyed my experience, the service was extremely friendly and accomodating!! ๐Ÿฅข๐Ÿ’ž

starting off with a fresh Miso Cucumber with sesame oil and yuzu miso vinaigrette to brighten the palate before diving into this fantastic Kingfish!! served with white soy, celery, avo and tobico, this is easily some of the best raw bar Kingfish i've had. everything complemented each other very well and the fish was so so fresh ๐Ÿคค

Fried Rice Cake was next served with sesame and peanut gochujang, simple but yum. KFC Bao was stuffed with cabbage and a sweet & sour mayo, again very easy to put together but tasted so damn good. the chicken was so crispy on the outside and juicy af inside

the Eggplant Nori Chips ๐Ÿ† were topped with truffle aioli and parmesan cheese, this was quite rich so i can't imagine downing a full plate of these but the flavour profile was certainly special and again, everything complemented each other perfectly

King Prawns, cooked to perfection and lifted out of their shells with ease, with a sultry garlic miso butter and sweet burnt lemon taste. super yum! ๐Ÿฆ

this Broccolini was so standout, the yuzukosho ponzu and truffle oil was a unique mix that had me reaching for more and more. i never knew i could love veggies so much hahaha ๐Ÿฅฆ

for mains you can either choose the Pork Belly Bossam or the KFC, which for me is such an obvious choice hahaha ๐Ÿ— the KFC came with gochujang and garlic soy dips as well as pickled daikon. this is such a generous serving we had to take some home, and it was even better the next day!

dessert was again a choice between the Nashi Pear Sorbet or the Bingsu with Red Bean Mochi. it was a hot day so we opted for the Bingsu which is just injeolmi ice cream with roasted soybean powder and red bean on the bottom ๐Ÿจ

the Peppers Acqua Pazza $24, literally translated to "peppers in crazy water", ๐Ÿ’ฆ was simple yet refined, and the anchovies added a much welcomed saltiness to the peppers. probably one of my fave starter dishes along with the Crudo di Mare $28, a selection of raw fish served with delicious baby capers.

for the Artichokes alla Romana $16, i am still not a fan of artichokes so this wasn't to my taste, but i really enjoyed the classic Prosciutto & Bufala $28 paired with their Focaccia $11.

i also didn't love the Polentini & Mortadella $22 as it was very dry on its own, but the Polpo & Patate (octopus and potatoes) $32 was divine! so well cooked and seasoned. ๐Ÿ™

we skipped past the mains and instead dived into all 3 pastas available on the menu! My favourite was the Rigatoni allโ€™Amatriciana $36, because who can skip a pasta as good-looking as this?! Creamy, cheesy, and just as rich and smooth as you'd expect. ๐Ÿ

Spaghetti al nero, crab, zucchine & pistacchio (spaghetti with squid ink) $38 is done well and i particularly loved the crushed pistacho nuts, the flavour was so so good. Ravioli, prawns & brown butter $34 on the other hand was my least favourite as it was just too salty to enjoy. ๐Ÿง‚

for desserts, we nabbed the Tiramisรน alla nocciola $19, Lemon delizia, pistachio $18, and Crema caramello alla banana $19. of the three, the Creme Caramel was definitely my top pick, that airy banana cream was to die for! ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿฆ

my partner booked the experience for Christmas this year which i was very excited about!! the start was a little rough as our boat had a late guest so we had to circle by the wharf for like 40mins waiting for them while the other boats went ahead ๐Ÿ’€

after a long info talk we hopped into the waders and into the cool water. we were sort of left to our own so we had to ask someone to show us how to shuck them as we'd never done it before ๐Ÿ”ช it gets easier the more you do it so by the end we were downing oysters so quick ๐Ÿ˜‚

you get a decent amount alongside some prawns ๐Ÿฆ and the fresh lemon and vinaigrette paired in was great! you also get a welcome glass of champagne but it's encouraged to BYO!! just be aware it can be very windy, we lost like 3 glasses of wine into the sea lol

overall the experience was quite enjoyable albeit a lil pricey ๐Ÿ’š still quite a unique Sydney experience and a nice day out if the weather allows it!

Edamame with chilli and nori was smoky, salty and delicious, some of the best i've had. Hiramasa Kingfish with white soy and cucumber was also heart-stoppingly good, so fresh! ๐ŸŸ in comparison, i didn't enjoy the Yellowfin Tuna on bonito bread as it was blander and not as punchy.

we also added some extra pastas alongside the included Duck Ravioli, honestly all 3 pastas were a bit lacklustre for me? my fave of the lot was the Miso Malfadine but i wouldn't order it again. ๐Ÿ

the Hibachi Wagyu was fantastic though, perfectly cooked with a great crust and rich flavour ๐Ÿฅฉ Charred Roma beans and a Cabbage Salad was served alongside, both were fine but not anything outstanding.

i was really excited for the Mochi Sorbetto which changes up in flavour depending when you visit. we got the Cherry flavour and i loved it, the chewy mochi with the sweet and smooth sorbet was great! the other dessert was the Chocolate Purin with pear and mirin but this was...not great compared to the mochi ๐Ÿ˜…

overall i did enjoy but nothing wowed me from this visit and im not sure if id return ๐Ÿฉท

you already know how good the Whipped Ricotta is and the Scallops were a standout but i gotta talk about these Corn Ribs. absolutely dripping in liquid gold (aka jalapeno and lime butter) and finished with pecorino snow and chilli oil. i polished these off too quick ๐Ÿ˜‚๐ŸŒฝ

another big win was the 250gm Flank Steak, served with asparagus and chermoula ๐Ÿฅฉ so unique in its flavour profile and unlike anything ive had. honestly im sick of eating the same sort of steak at other, more high end restaurants (butter, garlic, rosemary over and over) and while I know this is a classic pairing that still tastes good, it's refreshing to find a steak thats deliciously different. paired with the infamous Duck Fat Potatoes and you're sorted ๐Ÿฅ”

always a pleasure to visit and already can't wait to be back โค๏ธ thank you so much for inviting me in!

the Khatta Meetha Sydney Rock Oysters had a spiced Davidson plum chutney and punchy dressing that started this lunch off with a bang. i loved the Albacore Toast, fresh tuna sashimi dressed with gunpowder (yes, gunpowder!) and lemon myrtle. citrussy and refreshing, this was a delight. i also really enjoyed the Stracciatella Kachori, another punchy mouthful. the Scallops served with a spicy and tangy ambok tik sauce from Goa was another tasty bite but not my favourite, would pick the others instead!

the Masala Clams were a little funky for me so i enjoyed the Bone Marrow Dosa much more, especially that fermented rice & lentil crepe! we also had the Eggplant Bhorta which had pickled and fresh veg served with an eggplant and burnt tomato dip - absolutely delicious and have never enjoyed a "salad" in this way before.

bib locked and loaded, we dived into the Mud Crab with Garlic Pepper Butter and Paratha ๐Ÿฆ€ wow that sauce really makes it special and dipping freshly torn crab flesh in was just heaven on the tongue. the Parathas are so perfect when fresh and flaky. we also had the Laal Maas, a smokey Rajasthani lamb "curry" that was definitely my favourite. meat was tender and delicious, i could mop that sauce up all day!

for a vego option, the Sugarloaf Cabbage with Masoor Dahl was fantastic. rich and smooth, this Hyderabadi "curry" is served with a rich raisin and coriander filling which i loved!

desserts were a treat, despite the interesting shape the Jilipi was served in ๐Ÿ˜… not overly sweet but with great flavour and a hint of spice. a good way to end a beautiful lunch with my wonderful team โค๏ธ

anytime is roti time at .kooks โค๏ธ my fave is the veggie madtarbak, their version of a roti toasted-sanga! the reuben is also a fantastic choice, but if you haven't tried their 100% vegan coconut soft serve, you're mising out BIG TIME. ๐Ÿฅฅ

visited the lovely located in ๐Ÿ“Michinbury for a joint bday brunch with my girl and wow i was so impressed!! food is delicious with stunning rustic decor and friendly service ๐Ÿซถ read on to see what we ordered!

Yamba Prawns ๐Ÿฆ
with black garlic, herbed labneh, bottarga, and charred house sourdough. cooked perfectly, they lifted out of their shells and straight into my mouth with ease. buttery sweet and creamy, these prawns were fantastic.

Kingfish Collar ๐ŸŸ
the collar is the succulent section just behind the head and gills of the fish, which includes the wing and belly. the white meat was steamy and melted in the mouth. a welcome hint of spice in the fermented chilli oil and toum completed this dish, as well as the sumac and charred lemon ๐Ÿ‹

Duck Fat Potatoes ๐Ÿฅ”
god these were some good 'tatoes ๐Ÿคค served with confit garlic and parsley, these spuds boasted crispy skins and pillowy flesh, and they were gone in a flash!

Heirloom Carrots ๐Ÿฅ•
served with smooth whipped fetta, pistachio, and harissa honey for sweetness. the perfect side, perfectly cooked.

Whipped Ricotta 5.0 ๐Ÿง€
i could quite literally lick this off the plate, it was just that good. please ask for more bread to make sure you mop up every last drop!! the garnish shifts and changes over time, we had the rose petals and pistacho which were easily delicious ๐ŸŒน

we started off with beautifully crusted sourdough slices, adored the truffle butter (i know, i'm a changed woman now ). amuse-bouche was an olive-heavy tart, so not the hors d'oeuvre for me. loved the pastry case though, so thin and crispy! supplementary oysters at $12 each served with wakame oil & finger lime were so fresh and creamy that i melted. ๐Ÿฆช

line caught coral trout carpaccio ๐ŸŽฃ gosh that singed grapefruit is pretty, this dish is so pleasing to the eye. super fresh, light flavours. a delight to eat. seared scallops with cauliflower cream, damn they were so some thicc scallops. buttery and cooked perfectly. this dish was nice but stood out the least for me. aquina Murray Cod, celeriac finger fennel, diamond clam veloutรฉ. the fried eggplant was the winner tbh. And that sauce ๐Ÿ‘Œ

smoked grimaud duck breast, meat was a bit dry for me, a bit bland. the dark cherry sauce was delicious though, drowned the duck in it. rangers valley black onyx beef was hella salty for me, and the meat tough.

Pyengana cheddar fondue was fu**in yum but it's essentially melted cheese and crackers ๐Ÿง€ def ask for more crackers, you'll need em. we asked the waiter if we could swap out the last dessert for a honey & lavender creme brulee and they did plus they wrote this cute Happy Birthday for me ๐Ÿซถโœจ very cute, loved the candle, dessert was delish. candied top so perfect to crack into.

overall food was pretty good but not memorable for me. it was veryyyy slow to come out, we were waiting 20-30mins between each course after the first few. they estimated degustation time was 2 and a half hours but we were there for 3hrs 15mins ๐Ÿ˜…

we also noticed differences in plating between my bf & i, it wasn't consistent and sometimes looked completely different to each other. service was friendly but not overly accommodating, and the harbour view was picturesque โ›ต

๐Ÿ“Leichhardt is home to many an Italian institution, but nowhere does it better than .sydney ! decorated in local artwork, with a large function space upstairs, this quaint restaurant is perfect for date night or dinner with the girls ๐Ÿซถ

their wood-fired pizzas are elite, with the dough made fresh in house. the Amalfi pizza is actually my favourite but we tried the Margarita this time around and loved how crazy cheesy it was ๐Ÿง€ the Trentino pizza was also fantastic and loaded with toppings! ๐Ÿ•

the pasta is also made fresh in house (and available to take home!) so the Squid Ink Spaghetti was next level delicious ๐Ÿคค generous with crab pieces and a nice kick of chilli, this dish isn't overly heavy but packed with flavour ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ

don't sleep on their starters menu either, with winners like the Sea Salt & Rosemary Foccacia and Beef Carpaccio mindblowingly good! โœจ

has several venues across Sydney, we visited the ๐Ÿ“Beecroft location and was pleasantly surprised with how good the dishes were!

Katsu bowl was great, the chicken was super tender and crispy, veggies fresh and light ๐Ÿซถ def my fave pick of the lot! the vegan bowl was also really good, the falafel were great with heaps of flavour ๐Ÿง†

can't beat a classic cheeseburger, y'all did a deliciously thiccc one ๐Ÿ” juicy patty, generous with sauce, brioche bun, and crisp lettuce. on point โ˜๏ธ the Biscoff French Toast was quite tough though, it was a struggle to cut through the bread haha. flavour was good and Biscoff not too strong (i like Biscoff but don't wanna drown in it thanks xx)

overall a really cute brunch spread and a great excuse to catch up with my girl ๐Ÿ’– thank you to for organising this visit!

starting off with dessert because this was my favourite dish! a silky passion fruit and lemon curd ๐Ÿ‹, topped with mango sorbet and toasted coconut and cashew. so refreshing and citrusy, especially with a squeeze of kaffir lime on top.

the tuna bombs were delicious, crunchy balls of flavour, with soft tuna meat inside and topped with a spicy mayo ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ pictured next is the thin stir fried rice noodle, a classic option with heavy Thai influence.

we also got the silken tofu with caramelised dark soy sauce (which has only inspired me to make my own, keep an eye out for that hehe) and steamed dumplings with pork and prawn mousse. both great starter options with tons of flavour.

overall, a wonderfully sunny visit to over the weekend with my girl ๐Ÿ’• had a blast as usual!

when i crave a traditional Lebanese breakfast, my first thought is zaatar, labne, and veggies on gorgeous fresh bread โœจ filling but not heavy, and perfect with some strong iced coffee!

was the perfect Saturday morning experience, with friendly service and fantastic food ๐Ÿ‘Œ we will be back!
