As proud Australians, we celebrate our national day on January 26th. Australia Day is more than just a date; it's a celebration of our shared history, culture, and values. However, some stores have chosen not to sell Australia Day merchandise under pressure from activists who want the day abolished. This is not about changing the date; it's about erasing an integral part of our identity.

Australia Day has been celebrated since 1818 and officially declared a public holiday in all states and territories since 1994 (source: National Australia Day Council). It's a day when we come together as one nation to celebrate what's great about being Australian.

By refusing to sell merchandise associated with this important national holiday, these stores are denying us the opportunity to express our pride in being Australian. They are also ignoring the fact that according to a survey by The Institute of Public Affairs in 2019, over 70% of Australians support keeping Australia Day on January 26th (source: The Institute of Public Affairs).

We cannot stand by while elements attempt to erase parts of our culture and history. We call upon all Australians who value their heritage and traditions to join us in boycotting those stores that denounce the sale of Australia Day merchandise until they change their stance.

Currently there are over 2,000 active petitions against Woolworths and other retailers. That's a a lot of people speaking up and every signature counts. Please add yours to this petition or another to save Australia Day. It's time to stand up for the country and flag that has given us so much.

Come to lunch in Launceston with Senator Jacinta Price and have a conversation on the voice. let's hear why an Indigenous woman and leader is voting no.

This referendum is a moment that barely comes around once in a life time. The significance of the ballot cannot be understated and must be understood by all who cast a ballot. Its not an election that provides a do-over in 4 years. It becomes enshrined in our constitution. We must discuss and consider the potential ramifications on communities if this were to come to pass. It's imperative upon us all to spread the word so more people can get more information.

You may not be aware the Senators family home was broken into and ransacked recently and she's received death threats. It's appalling what her and her family continue to endure.

We should make the most of having Senator Jacinta Price in Launceston encourage as many people to come along as possible, especially younger people who have not experienced the cycle of Government.
