Peregian Springs Mobile Library Update

PEREGIAN SPRINGS UPDATE

The Mobile Library won't be able to park at the Peregian Springs Shopping Centre while construction continues. The Mobile Library van bus will relocate to the bus zone outside of St Andrew's Anglican College until the 23rd of June.

Alternatively, Coast Council have a great online library where you can stream or download free Books, Audiobooks, Newspapers, Magazines, Movies, and Music at https://library.sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au/elibrary

A letter from Cr Maria Suarez, Division 9 regarding the re-emergence of the issue of aircraft noise.

Dear Community Leaders,



I’m not sure if you are aware of the Senate inquiry into Air Services Australia and aircraft noise. I feel some of you may be, however thought I would take the opportunity to ensure you all are aware and can advise your members of this inquiry.



Submissions are open until the 30th of April and you can make a submission at this link Impact and mitigation of aircraft noise – Parliament of Australia (aph.gov.au)



The inquiry has the following focus:



The impact and mitigation of aircraft noise on residents and business in capital cities and regional towns, with particular reference to:

(a) the effect of aircraft noise on amenity, physical and mental wellbeing and everyday life of residents;
(b) the effect of aircraft noise on small business;
(c) any proposals for the mitigation and limitation of aircraft noise, including flight curfews, changes to flight paths and alternatives to air travel;
(d) any barriers to the mitigation and limitation of aircraft noise; and
(e) any other related matters.





There are a number of matters noted above that align with sentiments of newly overflown communities on the Sunshine Coast. I would encourage you to make a submission to this enquiry should you wish to advise the Senate of your particular concerns.
