We recently shot a series of brand videos for Coached by Emily to use across Instagram, Facebook as paid advertisements, as well as a stock video library for Emily to use across all platforms.
Emily wanted to communicate her authentic self to her audience, and make sure that people could see that her online coaching services were so much more than just being a health coach. Emily asked us about ways we could capture her authentic self, so when it came to shoot day we let the cameras roll and captured everything. It was really important for Emily that the shoot felt natural, so we loved the b-roll that we captured of those in between moments that showed her laughing, dancing, having fun and loving what she does.
We loved capturing the fun and freshness that Em brings to the health and fitness space, and are so excited to share what we captured!

So stoked to have joined the Innovation Bay team for Venture Down Under 2022!
What a wild three days of filming - I had the best time meeting local and interstate startups, discovering more about about the thriving ecosystem here in Noosa, tagging along for all the fun activities (flying the drone to capture abseiling is a first!)
And of course having a boog with everyone on the dance floor at Aurora Fest end was the cherry on the top🕺🎷
Here’s a recap of all the festivities from #VDU2022
Classic or Chilli? 🌶
It’s #InternationalMargaritaDay today! And what better way to celebrate than by sharing some recent social media video work with client faves - Lyre's Spirit Co 🎉
Here are two of their cocktails, a crowd favourite - the Classic Margarita, and a Watermelon Chilli Margarita - all made using their Agave Blanco Spirit 🍹🍋🌵
Best part? Nothing’s stopping you from making one right now, because their spirits are non-alcoholic! Definitely make sure to check out their page for some of their fab recipes.

We’re super excited to share a brand video for Sunshine Coast life coach, Kira from Jade The Way Coaching.
Kira’s brief was to create a video that reflected her personal brand - Kira as a life coach with a holistic approach to helping people grow into their most authentic, connected selves.
Kira wanted the video to feel warm, approachable, and serve as an introduction to who she is and the community she intends to build around self development.
We also captured images alongside the video for her social media, ebooks, podcast and self development course.
It has been such a pleasure working with Kira and we can’t wait to see her take on the Sunshine Coast and beyond!
Emerge One
Creating calm vibes for Emerge One 🌊
We’re excited to announce the launch of our new brand - Plus One Studio! We’re the same deal - modern, simplified and quality photo and video here on the Sunshine Coast, Bris and Gold Coast, but with a fresh look, a new name and an extra face (say Hi to Will 👋🏼).
And what better way to say hello than with what we know best - a video.
Thank you so much to everyone helping Will and I in the background to get this rebrand up and running. We’re super excited to end the year on such a high and can’t wait to keep connecting and making great content with you.

Jewelry Tips with Lindsay
A video snippet of some jewelry tips from @lindsaynicholasnewyork just in time for the weekend
"What do you enjoy about running your own business?"
"What do you enjoy about running your own business?" is a question I've come across quite a bit in the process of restructuring what 'Tayla Lokman Photo + Video' is, and it got me thinking, what parts about this do I really enjoy?
I think it's a really good idea to stop and reflect on your "why" as a business owner. I'm sure I'm not the only one who get's bogged down in the things like the financials, or trying to keep up a social media presence or the comparing to those around you (it's so easy to fall into.)
But remembering why I started this is such a great motivator to keep going. Personally, I started this because I love the process of learning. Starting a business meant not only learning and growing as a photographer/videographer, but also learning the diverse areas that come with growing a little business - building a website, how to be a great communicator with clients, learning how to properly organise my tax (Xero is a lifesaver in this department!) and all the other skills you gain by venturing into business. I never thought I'd be the type to enjoy 'running a business', but the learning process of all of different aspects of growing a business is what keeps me going. It's never having the same day twice.
I would love to know what is it about what you do that keeps you going? What is your favourite part about what you do?

Happy International Women's Day!
I am lucky enough in my job to walk alongside some pretty damn awesome women. Women who are bringing their ideas to life, women who are empowering others around them, women who are selfless, women who are growing, women who are inspiring others, and women who are just plain killing it! I am constantly in awe of the power, strength, and resilience of these wonderful women who I get to work with every day.
To celebrate I put together a little video featuring of some of the great women I've had the privilege of working with.
And just for fun, if you spot yourself or your video write "✋" in the comments below!
How I Colour Grade Footage!
Did you know that when I shoot your videos they actually look super dull straight out of camera? Have you seen raw footage like this before?
Ever wonder why? My camera (and most professional level cameras) are actually supposed to spit out really dull looking footage because it gives me flexibility in your colours and contrast when editing.
The dull looking image is what we call a “Flat” or LOG image, and it means each frame stores a hefty amount of colour and light information that I can use in editing to make your image pop! It gives people the creativity to stylise their footage to their taste. I prefer a clean, natural look for my videos and prioritise editing them to match your photos and branding.
Check out the process of colour grading!
Since going all in on my business I took some time out today to stop and really think about where I'm at, and why I'm doing what I'm doing. I realise that opportunities don't come across your table every day so when the opportunity to jump into full time freelance came up there was no way I wouldn't give it a shot.
So today I asked myself "what are some of the things I love about what I do?". Here's what I landed on:
✨ I love exploring new places, and I really like how video shoots force me to step outside of the office and explore new places around me. No two days are the same.
✨ I am constantly learning! This week I learnt how to perfectly balance my gimbal, last week I was learning an entirely new editing program (move over Premiere, it's Final Cut or nothing now for me!) Point is, there's always more to learn in my field and I appreciate that that is something that gives me momentum rather than drains it.
✨I don't feel like I have to sacrifice my life for my work anymore. I realise that I am super lucky to be in the position that I'm in to have flexibility in my life. Sometimes it is really, really hard running your own business but I love the freedom it grants me over my time and how I spend my energy. I feel more empowered in my life than I ever have.
✨Seeing these exact same themes in the clients I work with. I love that I get to be a part of their journey too and help them as their ideas take shape.
I just thought I'd share some of these thoughts with you and encourage you to do the same. Whether you're running a business or not it doesn't really matter, but it's worth stopping and thinking about the good bits, the things you do like about what you do every day.
Running events are a fantastic marketing tool for your business. Events to grow your business, connect with new people and get your brand out there!
But in order to promote your event quality photo and video content a MUST. People want to see a visualisation of what they’re going to experience - and high quality content from your event is going to do just that (and more!)
So why should you get have photo and video shot at your next event?
1. As I just mentioned, it sets expectations and helps your potential guest get clear on what they’ll gain!
2. Professional photo and video builds a reputation of quality and gives your a sense of brand credibility.
3. It builds hype for your event and is more likely to be shared to other communities! Think about it - guest speakers, event spaces, caterers, even previous attendees are more likely to reshare your content if it’s highly engaging and high quality.
4. FOMO is a key element. It gives people the chance to see for themselves exactly why they can’t afford to miss out on your event!
If you’ve ever had questions about event photos or video, feel free to pop into my DMs as I always love a chat about everything content! ✉️
Why does your website NEED a video?
It's aaaaaall about connecting with your customers, and in my opinion, video is the quickest and most engaging way to do it!
Here are my 3 reasons why I think having a video is a great idea for your website:
1. A video sets up an idea of what your client will experience with you. Your customer can see exactly what their investment gains them access to, which helps make their decision to buy from you that much easier.
2. Videos communicate what you do more effectively - customers want to know clearly what you offer as quickly as possible. In as little as 1 minute, a video communicates exactly what you offer.
3. Videos build your know like and trust factor. A video on your website is often the first contact point. This is the opportunity for you to share who you are, what you do, and how fantastic your product or service is to create that connection with a customer.
Video for your website is one of the best tools to grow your business. If you're keen to have your own, I would love to have a chat with you and hear more about your business. Get in touch via my DM's or through my website.
