Metadata, not to be confused with Meta (the company that owns Facebook and Instagram), is essentially a description of data or information. 👩🏻‍💻

Metadata applies to multiple things and can be something as simple as the author, date created and file size of a word doc. It is just data that describes other data.

Why is this relevant to digital marketing? Because your website needs metadata to be able to tell Google what information a page has on it, so Google can then display it in search results to the right people.

Your meta title and meta description on Google provide a heading and a blurb about your website. If done correctly, your metadata can boost your relevancy and visibility in search results. It's also the first thing your customer will read when they find your website in search results.

Haveeeee you met Jessie? 🙋🏻‍♀️

Hi I'm Jessie. I'm one of dash.'s account managers and social media specialists.
As an account manager, I oversee half of our clients, managing the channels they're across, acting as their main point of contact, doing all the reporting and about 100 others things.

I studied a Bachelor of Business majoring in Marketing at the University of the Sunshine Coast, graduating in 2020. It was there that I fell in love with the power of social media marketing, and did an internship with a local marketing agency. I then used the skills I was learning at the time, to start freelancing whilst still studying, helping local businesses elevate their socials. 🤳🏻

I ran my own social media business for a few years, whilst also contracting for Lauren at her previous agency, LMF Marketing. Working from home with no social interaction however, was just not for me, so when Lauren took over dash. I jumped at the chance to join her new team.

I love working at dash. because we have such a great team environment where we can collaborate on ideas. We also have such a diverse range of clients to keep things interesting. Also having .coffee on our doorstep doesn't hurt.

Well, it's a year on since I took over DOM, and with so much change and so many new faces, it's time I reintroduce myself... 👋

I first started working for myself in 2018, and the very first business name was Porcupine Digital (it's a long story, but I did not like this name at all!). So in 2019 I rebranded to LMF Marketing and really ramped up my biz.

Last year I wanted to shift away from what calls the 'Hero' business model and into a true agency, I believed the acquisition of Dash of Milk would help with this change.

In the past 12 months, I have grown so much - and it has been such an incredible journey. I know every business owner can relate, but it never does end - there's always a new challenge to over come or opportunity to seize.

I really think small business owners are a special type of people 😂

It is CRUCIAL to consider your SEO when redoing your website, including:

✔️ setting up URL redirects for any removed pages & maintaining consistent URLs on the other pages.
