WA’s Cold Case Investigation Squad has set up a mobile police facility in the state's southwest, seeking new information on the disappearance of then-12-year-old Lisa Mott.

On October 30, 1980, Lisa left for the local basketball courts on Throssell Street around 6:45pm and later visited a pizza shop around 8:45pm. She was last seen walking home around 9pm, crossing a railway line towards Forrest Street, but never returned home.

“It’s every parent’s worst nightmare, losing a bright young child without explanation,” Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Dowding said.

“Any small piece of information may be all we need to progress this investigation and find answers for Lisa’s family.”

The mobile station is located on Forrest Street in Collie and offers a $1 million reward for any leads in the suspected murder.

WA has opened its first TAFE-based Mini Woolies to help students with disabilities gain workplace skills.

The South Metropolitan TAFE Bentley campus celebrated the store's opening in collaboration with the Woolworths Group on Wednesday.

“By ‘setting up shop’ on campus, it provides a safe and comfortable environment for students with disabilities to develop foundational skills and build their confidence,” Training and Workforce Development Minister Simone McGurk said in a statement.

A 40-year-old man has been charged after an alleged attack after a Melbourne Cup Day event on Tuesday afternoon.

Police reported that the 43-year-old victim and his wife were waiting for a ride-share vehicle outside Hillary’s Beach Club when they were approached by an unknown man around 4pm.

An altercation followed, during which the accused allegedly punched the victim in the face, causing him to lose consciousness and fall backward, hitting his head on the road.

The victim was taken to Royal Perth Hospital with serious head and facial injuries. Security staff from a nearby venue detained the accused until police arrived.

The man has been charged with grievous bodily harm and is set to face court today

Western Australia has been ranked as one of the worst states for dog attacks on postal workers.

Australia Post recorded 152 dog-related incidents in WA over the past six months, averaging more than 49 incidents per week.

CCTV footage shows posties being attacked by dogs while delivering mail or driving past, with the highest number of incidents occurring in Rockingham, Nedlands, Geraldton, and Bunbury.

Australia Post is urging dog owners to be extra cautious as postal deliveries increase during the holiday season and has called on local councils to enforce tougher restrictions.

Two scuba divers have captured the terrifying moment they were stalked by a Great White shark off Western Australia’s coast.

Tim Ryan and Andy Nelson were crayfishing at the time, when a four-metre-long white pointer shark began hunting them from above, forcing them to hide out on the sea floor.

They spoke to 10 News First about the experience, and how they managed to resurface safely.
