First Drop is a freestyle hip hop event created to provide a space for aspiring and established performers, rappers, producers and musicians to do what they do best. The Australian hip hop scene is steadily growing, however the forum for pure freestyle rap and performance is still behind the current and more popular rap battle scene. First Drop is intended to promote raw, creative hip hop and musi

c collaboration. Local producers and musicians provide the backbeat that sets the stage for a host of freestyle competitions and performances to take place. Anyone can nominate themselves to compete and take place, or step in during the open mic session and give it a shot. There’ll be a mix of freestyle competitions, live performances from local talent and a heap of entertainment throughout the night. to one place, linking the fastest minds and tongues with producers looking to expose their wares to the public. First Drop also aims to attract the next generation; local youth who are the new wave of hip hop talent in W.A. Alongside this, our focus is on the community and expression through avenues other than drugs, alcohol, violence.
