Cannington Detectives have charged a 29-year-old man in relation to an aggravated robbery that occurred in Pinjarra on 17 December 2023.

About 11.50pm the victim – a 19-year-old male delivery driver – was getting into his vehicle on George Street when he was approached from behind by the accused.

It will be alleged the accused punched the victim several times before stealing his vehicle – a black Toyota Yaris. As a result of the assault, the victim received multiple fractures to the jaw.

A short time later, police observed the stolen vehicle on the South Western Highway in Mundijong. Officers activated emergency lights and sirens however it will be alleged the accused ignored direction and continued to drive away from police.

An evade police incident ensued though the suburbs of Armadale, Mundijong and Kelmscott until the vehicle crashed through a brick wall surrounding the front yard of a home on Parkfield Road. Police arrested the accused a short time later following a brief foot chase.

The 29-year-old Baldivis man was charged with:
- 1 x Aggravated Robbery
- 1 x Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm
- 1 x Steal Motor Vehicle
- 1 x Fail to Stop
- 1 x Reckless Driving to Escape Pursuit by Police
- 1 x No Authority to Drive
- 1 x Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property

He is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, 18 December 2023.

State Crime detectives are seeking information regarding an incident in Kings Park last night, Friday 8 December 2023, in which a man was seriously injured.

About 9:50pm, as patrons were leaving the ‘Ministry of Sound Classic’ music festival event being held within the Kings Park & Botanic Garden venue, a man aged in his 40’s was assaulted outside the venue.

The man received a serious laceration injury to his neck. He was taken by St John WA to Royal Perth Hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery for his injury.

A group of people believed to be involved in the incident were last seen leaving the area on several motorcycles.

A large number of people were in the immediate vicinity of the incident, and detectives are seeking any photos or vision taken that shows the incident or the people involved.

Cannington Police today charged a 20 year old Bateman woman with 54 seperate transactions of stealing. The offences occurred over 8 months whilst she worked at a local surf retailer. The female will explain her stealing as a servant habit to the Magistrate.

Joondalup Detectives have charged a man with seven offences in relation to an incident which occurred in Butler yesterday, Monday 13 November 2023.

It will be alleged about 7.30am, a male entered a home on Marchwood Boulevard whilst in possession of a shotgun.

The male then discharged the firearm through a front window of the home about 8.30am and police were called.

Multiple units – including Joondalup Detectives and the Tactical Response Group – attended the home a short time later.

It will be further alleged the male discharged the firearm again from inside the home about 9.30am.

A 27-year-old man was arrested at the scene a short time later.

During a search of the home, a shotgun and ammunition were seized by police.

The Quinns Rock man was charged with;
- Discharged a firearm to the danger of, or in a manner to cause fear to, the public or any person (two counts).
- Unlicensed person possess firearm/ammunition (two counts).
- Possession of stolen or unlawfully obtained property.
- Aggravated home burglary and commit.
- Unlawful act or omission with intent to harm (endangering life, health or safety of any person).

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 14 November 2023.

Two occupants of the home – a male and female who were inside at various times during the incident - were uninjured. The 27-year-old man is not known to the occupants.

Major Crime Division detectives have charged a man in relation to an incident in Ascot yesterday, Thursday 8 June 2023, in which a police officer was critically injured.

About 1:00am, police were following a vehicle bearing stolen plates. The vehicle came to a stop on Ascot Place in Ascot.

Officers attempted to detain the three occupants of the vehicle, and during the incident one of the officers was run over and dragged underneath the vehicle. The three people from the vehicle were taken into custody.

The officer remains in Royal Perth Hospital in a critical condition.

A 23-year-old man from Belmont has been charged with:
- Act intended to prevent arrest, caused grievous bodily harm to any person
- Steal Motor Vehicle
- Reckless driving to escape pursuit by police
- Fail to stop when directed by a police officer
- Possession of a prohibited drug (methyl amphetamine)
- Possession of a drug implement

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Perth Magistrates Court today, Friday 9 June 2023.

The two other occupants of the vehicle – a 20-year-old woman and a 25-year-old man - have been released, pending further investigation.

Rapid Apprehension Squad officers have arrested and charged a 24-year-old man in relation to an armed robbery at a firearm store in Busselton on 25 May 2023.

The 24-year-old man from Cowaramup will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court today, Saturday 27 May 2023, on the offences of:-
• Armed Robbery;
• Unlicensed Person Possess Firearm/Ammunition x 2; and
• Possessed a Prohibited Weapon

The firearm has been recovered.
