The Bootmaker’s House, Nannup

The Bootmaker’s House is a charming workers cottage that has been lovingly restored. Originally a shop attached to the front, housed the J. Pickering Bootstore where the Bootmaker would sit and mend the towns boots.

The shop no longer exists but the Bootmaker’s House stands strong and ready to welcome you. Located in the heart of Nannup, everything is on your doorstep from shops and cafes to the meandering Blackwood River and the majestic forests of the South West.

The Hyatt Regency Perth has confirmed it will be closing its doors after 36 years of operation in the city.

It was confirmed on Monday that its final day of business as a hotel will be August 31.

The iconic Perth hotel located on Adelaide Terrace has been a popular choice for tourists and has hosted many famous faces since opening in 1988.

Speaking on the closure, WA Premier Roger Cook said: “It’s done such great service to the people of WA… We’ve all got fond memories of the Hyatt, and we’ll be sad to see it go.”

Hyatt Regency will be contacting customers with affected bookings and is looking into opportunities for onward job opportunities for current staff.

Stockton Lake, Collie

Imagine waking up and this is your view... This picturesque reservoir is located just 2:20 hrs from Perth and is known for its tranquil beauty and outdoor activities.

There are many camping options available, with spacious undefined sites allowing room for tents and even caravans. The campground also has accessible toilets.

Campfires are permitted in accordance with current conditions which are displayed at the entrance to the site. Be sure to check signage to see if campfires are allowed in your area (campfires are not permitted during fire ban).

The lake is pet friendly, so your pooch can get in on the fun too – but just make sure they stay securely on their lead.

Stockton Lake is not bookable, it operates on a first come first serve basis, however there is a small camping fee that is collected daily.
