Who’s into spearfishing?

Nath is new to the game, but has caught the bug so we are in the market for a bigger, stronger gun.

We know nothing about it and don’t want anything massive as it would be nice to be able to get it under bombies if need be…..

If anyone has any type, brand etc that you love and recommend, send them through!!! ☺️

Love a good Spanish mackerel hookup.

Did you know there are now certain closure periods in QLD including 2 x 3 week periods around the new moons in October and November?

The closures are part of a harvest strategy to rebuild the Spanish mackerel stock to a level that achieves maximum sustainable yield. The strategy also aims to achieve maximum economic yield while maintaining catch shares among the different fishing sectors.

When we first started heading to Cape Melville, they were everywhere but in recent times, there have been some years where we haven’t been able to catch a single one….

Let’s hope these closures do the job and bring the numbers back up.

Hervey Bay, QLD

Hervey Bay, located on Queensland’s Fraser Coast, is a stunning coastal town renowned for its calm waters, laid-back atmosphere, and as a premier whale-watching destination. Every year from July to November, humpback whales migrate to Hervey Bay’s sheltered waters to rest and play, offering visitors an unforgettable experience. The town’s proximity to the world-famous Fraser Island also makes it a popular gateway for those exploring the island’s unique landscapes and wildlife.

One of Hervey Bay’s most iconic landmarks is its historic Urangan Pier, often called "The Long Jetty." Stretching nearly a kilometer into the ocean, the pier was originally built in the early 1900s for shipping sugar and timber. Today, it’s a favorite spot for fishing, walking, and enjoying panoramic views of the bay. The pier offers a peaceful vantage point to watch local fishermen reel in their catch or simply enjoy the stunning sunrises and sunsets over the water. It’s also a prime location for spotting marine life, with turtles, dolphins, and stingrays frequently seen in the waters below.

Just next to the jetty is a fabulous fish and chip shop and an ice-cream shop so you can enjoy lunch while the kids explore the park!

We stayed at the Ingenia caravan park but will definitely be booking into the Fraser Coast Beachfront Tourist Parks | Scarness one next time as it’s currently undergoing a revamp and is in prime location!

Bundaberg, QLD

Bundaberg, located in Queensland, Australia, is a vibrant regional town known for its rich history, agriculture, and iconic attractions. Situated along the Burnett River, it is about 4 hours north of Brisbane and serves as a gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef.

One of Bundaberg’s most famous exports is its sugar cane, which has been central to the town's economy for over a century. The town’s connection to sugar cane gave rise to Bundaberg Rum, one of Australia’s most well-known spirits. Visitors can tour the Bundaberg Rum Distillery to learn about the distilling process and sample their products. The Bundaberg Brewed Drinks company, known for its famous ginger beer, is another highlight, offering factory tours that showcase the craft behind their popular beverages.

Beyond its famous drinks, Bundaberg offers a wealth of natural attractions. It’s close to Mon Repos, a conservation park renowned for its sea turtles. Every year between November and March, visitors flock to Mon Repos to witness sea turtles nesting and hatching, a magical wildlife experience. Bundaberg’s proximity to the coast also makes it a great starting point for exploring the Southern Great Barrier Reef, with day trips to Lady Musgrave Island and Lady Elliot Island offering incredible snorkeling and diving opportunities.

Bundaberg also has a charming town center with historical buildings, boutique shops, and a growing food scene. The region is known for its fresh produce, including macadamias, avocados, and tomatoes, and there’s a strong emphasis on farm-to-table dining. Of course, we couldn’t not stop at one of the local strawberry farms that has a small shop offering fresh strawberries, ice-creams other fresh produce.

With its unique blend of history, agriculture, and access to natural wonders, Bundaberg offers a perfect mix of culture and adventure, making it a must-visit destination for travelers exploring Queensland’s coastal towns.

IT’S THOSE THAT MEAN THE MOST, THAT MATTER MOST……

The kids are growing up WAYYY too fast and it's a constant reminder of how swiftly time passes.

In less than a decade, they’ll all be adults – a reality that's both thrilling and daunting. Every moment counts, and we refuse to miss a beat in witnessing our children's growth and creating lasting memories together.

You see, you think all your long hours, overtime, shift work, weekends missing family events, weekends missing sporting events and then being a tired, cranky s**t when you get home doesn’t go unnoticed….but we can guarantee it is noticed, but it’s not noticed by your boss, by your supervisor, by the payroll officer paying your wage….it’s noticed by your kids.

In 10 years time, they will be the ones that will remember you missing from the sideline of their soccer games, you absent from their school concerts, you not being there to catch summer waves with them at the beach, or enjoy a Sunday afternoon BBQ at home….

So what are you going to do about it?

Send us a DM if you’re keen to see how we’ve leveraged social media to generate extra income so we don’t have to do overtime….

ARE YOU AN EARLY RISER OR A NIGHT OWL?

We love getting up early and watching the sun rise, whether it’s over the ocean or in the bush…there’s just something about getting up when the air is still crisp and the birds are just starting to sing…..

We do also love sitting around a campfire at night too….just not too late 😅

DON’T GET STUCK IN THE OLD WAYS……

Gone are the days of one career for life…

Gone are the days of having to work from dusk till dawn, away from your family, and miss out on your kids growing up.

We have moved into the digital era.

There are so many different ways to earn a living that can be worked around family life, that allow you to enjoy your kids’ childhood, where you can be involved in every aspect of their lives, without having to sacrifice on income.

How you ask?

High ticket sales?

Yep, it’s real. It’s a thing, and it’s here to stay!

We have partnered with a company that aligns with our health values, aligns with our morals and produces products we truly believe in.

Did we start this business for the products originally? No, they were a bonus.

We started this business because we saw the potential, we saw the bigger picture, we saw the future and saw what this business could do for us, for our family.

Yeah it’s not for everyone, and that’s okay. If it was, everyone would be doing it.

BUT it was for us. We saw, we believed, we worked and we made it happen. 🥹

AND you know what? We are no different to you! Anyone can make this work, if you are willing to believe, work and trust the process. That’s what we loved about it. Nath and I have a different skill set, we both work on our weaknesses and continually learn new things.

So if you’re feeling stuck, feeling lost or looking for new opportunities, maybe the thing that we found, could also be your winning ticket to success as well.

Send us a DM ‘SUCCESS’ and we can share some info. No obligation. No pressure and no pushing. Just facts and figures 🤗 Then you decide

The Town of 1770, QLD

The town of 1770, often referred to as “Seventeen Seventy,” is a charming coastal gem nestled in Queensland, Australia. This small town holds historical significance as it was the second landing site of Captain James Cook and his crew on their voyage of discovery along Australia’s east coast in May 1770, which gives the town its unique name. The area’s rich history is honored with various monuments, including the Captain Cook Memorial, reminding visitors of the town’s pivotal role in Australian exploration.

Beyond its historical importance, 1770 is known for its natural beauty and laid-back atmosphere. It is located on a picturesque peninsula, where the Coral Sea meets Bustard Bay, offering stunning coastal views, serene beaches, and calm waters perfect for water sports. The sheltered waters make it an ideal spot for activities like swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding, especially for families or those seeking a tranquil escape.

1770 is also a gateway to the Southern Great Barrier Reef, and many visitors embark on snorkeling and diving trips to explore the vibrant coral reefs and marine life of Lady Musgrave Island and nearby reefs. The town’s connection to nature extends to its surrounding areas, with the nearby Eurimbula National Park and Deepwater National Park providing opportunities for hiking, camping, and wildlife spotting in lush rainforests and unspoiled beaches.

The 1770 LARC! Tours offer a unique amphibious adventure, allowing visitors to explore the stunning coastline and national parks surrounding the town of 1770. These vibrant pink LARCs (Lighter Amphibious Resupply Cargo vehicles) travel across both land and water, providing an exciting way to see local wildlife, pristine beaches, and scenic landscapes. Popular tours include the full-day Paradise Tour, where visitors explore the Bustard Head Lighthouse and enjoy sandboarding on massive dunes. The LARC! experience combines adventure, history, and breathtaking views, making it a memorable and family-friendly way to discover the beauty of the 1770 region.

Rules Beach Holiday Park

This is definitely one to add to your list of must-stop places if travelling up or down the QLD coast.

BIG4 Rules Beach Holiday Park is set on an idyllic beachfront location on remote and unhurried Rules Beach, one of Queensland’s best kept secrets.

Located between Bundaberg and 1770, this relatively new park is pet friendly and offers state-of-the-art camping facilities, with extra-large grass sites, sealed bitumen roads, luxurious new bathroom and laundry facilities and a beautiful new camp kitchen.

Ideal for relaxing, 4WD beach driving, fishing, turtle laying and hatching, fossicking, and swimming (no crocs, no stingers and average water temperature over 20 degrees).

The park has a range of accomodation options including large caravan and camping areas as well as our luxurious ocean view glamping tents.

With the beach on your doorstep and the spectacular Deepwater National Park and Baffle Creek nearby, there is something to do for everyone.

The camp kitchen offers a huge space for communal meals, and the fire pit is the perfect spot to unwind in the avo, meet new friends and connect with fellow holiday-makers. For those that enjoy some campfire cooking, the second cooking fire pit is a great option for those wanting to cook up a roast.

The team were always on hand to answer any questions, offer advice or just have a chat, and as we were in a group of 4, they were super accomodating with putting us all together so we had a big, grassed communal area between our sites.
