Something that we did not anticipate when Max embarked on this journey was the amount of children who would be inspired by him. It is quite overwhelming but completely heartwarming.

We have had parents contact us saying that previously trying to get their child to read was a struggle, that they would flat out refuse, however they begged their parent to buy Max's book and they now read it every night.

We have had parents contact us saying that their child has always said they want to be a writer but never thought a child could be an author, so now they are working on their own books.

We have had parents contact us to tell us how their children had found an injured animal and they raced around and followed Max's instructions in the back of his book.

We have had parents reach out to us to say how their children are also on the spectrum or suffer from anxiety and they were excited to see someone "like them" who has done something like this and have been talking about their own projects now.

We have had kinder teachers contact us to tell us how their class' favourite roleplay game atm is to be a Wildlife Shelter and to rescue animals and make them better.

We have had teachers contact us saying that after reading the book to their class, there has been multiple students who previously would struggle to write even one paragraph, but now they are writing 2-3 pages!

Max has had kids in the playground at school come up to him to tell them how they are now writing their own books and show him what they have been working on.

Then last night, Max received this absolutely gorgeous letter in the mail from the Green Room at Jumping Jacks Community Preschool in New South Wales. (This picture is of him reading it) The children had been inspired to do drawings of their favourite animals, some had built their own little Animal Shelters out of buildling blocks, and they talked about the conservation program for the Grey Headed Flying Fox (One of the characters in Max's book) that their local reserve is carrying out. Max absolutely loved it! Thank you Jumping Jacks Green Room for Making Max's day!

To say i am proud of Max is a total understatement.

He has now sold over 600 books and we are so grateful for all of your support!

(Our second print run has now arrived and is ready to go for anyone who would like to grab a copy... just send us a message)

WOW! What a week!!

Max has sold over 400 copies now!! We have nearly sold out of our first print run! We would like to thank you all so much for your support!!

More than 300 of the books have been delivered or posted already this week, with thanks to some helpers (Thank you Nana and Pa and The Funky Farm team).

Max has made quite a few deliveries himself and has absolutely loved meeting everyone. He did a Bulk post office drop today and was shocked out how long the postal receipt was! The environment is very important to Max, so the satchells chosen are recycled plastic and can be recycled with your soft plastics at REDCYCLE bins. The cardboard inside to help protect the books has been reused from boxes we had laying around and can go straight in to your recycle bin.

Max LOVES seeing pictures of you and your kids reading the book, so once you receive yours please send one through with your thoughts on the book, or leave us a review! We would be very grateful!

Something that has been AMAZING to hear, is how many children who have been inspired by Max and his book and who are now writing their own stories! :) Some have been children also struggling with Anxiety, some have been children who previously hated writing, and some who struggle to write more than a paragraph. Everytime someone tells Max this he gets so excited!

I asked Max if he would like to say anything to sign off and this was his repsonse.

"Please always remember to be kinda to Animals and Nature, Be kind to your family and friends. It would be really nice if mums and dads could talk to their children about Autism and how autistic people like me are just the same as everyone else we just experience things differently sometimes. OHHH and Thanks for all your support!"

If you would like to order a copy of the book there are still some available so please just send us a message :)

Hi all, Andy from Publicious Book Publishing here. As you're all aware, this is an unprecedented time in our history. The COVID-19 pandemic is having an impact on the health of our loved ones, the businesses we rely upon, the health of the global economy, and the way we live our daily lives. As we all continue to navigate through these unique and evolving challenges, we want you to know that Publicious is still here and will remain here as long as our clients and friends need our assistance.

During our 10 years in business, we've immersed ourselves in the Aussie way with our insistence of using only Australian suppliers for our short and long-run printing. This has always been, and more so now than ever, a very important part of our business model by keeping the work (dollar) on our shores and doing our little bit to help keep the Australian economy moving.

I've spoken with our printers this morning and, although these unexpected times are forcing them to go about their work in different ways, they inform me that, for now at least, it's business as usual.

Myself and our staff including admin, editors, illustrators etc, already work from home so you could say we're all quite used to self-imposed quarantine.

Our online distribution for both POD and ebooks is continuing as normal, as are all of our services. The weeks and possibly months ahead will be an unprecedented leveler no doubt, but I just wanted to ensure that as valued clients and associates you can rest assured that we will all get this through this if we remain strong.

On closing, I'd just like to say that as writers, we can all turn this situation into a positive one. If you're in lockdown, use that time. Do what you do best. Write!

Our thoughts and best wishes are with you and your loved ones. Andy
