Attempted bank robbery charges,

Detectives from Logan Criminal Investigation Branch have charged a man following an alleged attempted bank robbery in Beenleigh last week.

Shortly before 4pm on July 17, it will be alleged the man entered a bank on City Road and approached a bank teller wearing a mask.

The man threatened the teller and demanded cash.

The security alarm was activated, and the man allegedly fled empty-handed on foot.

Officers arrested the man at a City Road, Beenleigh residence last night, July 24.

The 34-year-old Beenleigh man was charged with one count each of attempted robbery, stealing and fraud – dishonestly obtains property from another.

He is due before Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, July 25.

Armed robbery, (Gold Coast)

Police are investigating following the armed robbery of a petrol station in Pimpama earlier today, July 25.

At around 4am, three offenders with face coverings and armed with knives smashed the front door of the Pimpama Jacobs Well Road business.

Once inside, the offenders demanded and took ci******es and the cash register.

The male store attendant was not physically injured during the incident.

They then left the scene in the Black Audi Q5 they arrived in and stole the store attendant’s Ford Focus.

Anyone who has any information about the incident, was in the area at the time and may have dash camera footage that could assist investigations, is urged to contact police.

Investigations are continuing. There are no further details available at this time.

OVERNIGHT.

At around 8:38 pm Emergency Services responded to a head-on crash in Gold Coast.

A passenger in a Volkswagen Polo was trapped in the vehicle and had to be cut free after a nasty head-on collision.

The crash disrupted traffic at the Smith Street and Heslop Road intersection.

OVERNIGHT.

At around 9:47 pm Emergency services responded to a RTC in

A nasty head-on crash left 4 people in the hospital one patient was in critical condition and one had to be cut free.

There were a lot of Emergency services on the scene and the road remained closed for some time on Chambers Flat Road Logan Reserve.

Forensic police are investigating the cause of the crash.

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a woman missing in a creek at Waters this afternoon, July 23.

The woman was last seen in Biggera Creek, near Hollywell Road and Morala Avenue just before 5pm; however, has failed to resurface.

She is described as Caucasian in appearance with a slim build, aged in her late teens to early 20s.

A search is underway to locate her.

Police are appealing to anyone who has seen the woman to immediately come forward.

At around 7:57 pm Emergency services responded to a BMW X3 WAGON that had burst into flames 🔥 on the on-ramp at Smith Street Gaven Northbound.

No injuries to the driver, who escaped the blaze, the road was closed for some time as fire crews worked to extinguish the fire but ran out of water.

Fire extinguishers were used to fully put out the fire and the wreckage had to be removed from the on ramp to the M1.

There was a shed fire that spread to a house in Robina on the Gold Coast.

At around 7:17 pm at Emergency Services were called to a house on Cottesloe Drive everyone was evacuated safety from the house.

It took 3 fire crews to contain the blaze.

The cause of the fire was under investigation but not suspicious.

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at Ormeau in the early hours of this morning.

Around 4.30am emergency services were called to Vaughan Drive after reports of a Mercedes Benz vehicle on fire in the driveway.

Upon arrival emergency service extinguished the fire which destroyed the Mercedes Benz and partially damaged a second vehicle, a VW Amarok.

There was also fire damage to the residence but no structural damage.

No one was injured during the incident.

Attempted stolen vehicle, Coolum

Police have charged a man after he was locked inside a vehicle he was allegedly trying to steal.

Police were called to Spinnaker Drive, Mount Coolum around 5pm on Sunday, July 21, after the owner of a BMW X3 noticed an unknown person inside their car.

The owner locked the car to contain the unknown person, until police arrived.

While inside the vehicle, the man allegedly damaged the driver’s side windows and door.

Police attended and arrested the 21-year-old Mount Coolum man, with a subsequent search of him allegedly locating drugs.

The man has been charged with two counts of possessing dangerous drugs, and one count each of enter premises and commit indictable offence, possess utensils or pipes that had been used, and trespass – unlawfully enter or remain in dwelling or yard.

He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on August 5.

Break-and-enter, shot fired,

Police are investigating a break-and-enter at an address at Bundall, where a shot was fired into the roof of the property in the early hours of Tuesday, July 23.

Initial investigations indicate two offenders attended the property on Slatyer Avenue at approximately 12.30am, one offender armed with a handgun.

The offenders attempted to enter via a balcony, and while doing so, they smashed a glass door and discharged the weapon into the roof.

The offenders then proceeded to enter the property and threatened a female occupant with the weapon, before leaving the scene shortly afterward without taking any property.

The woman was not injured during the incident.

Both offenders then left the scene in what is believed to be a white sedan.

Police believe the offenders were targeting a previous occupant of the property and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Police are hunting the driver behind a high-speed hit and run south of Brisbane.

Officers say a Holden Commodore ploughed into a Toyota Corolla after trying to turn at a Beenleigh intersection just after 8.30pm on Friday.

After spinning out of control, the Holden came to a stop on a traffic island, and two people ran from the car.

The car was earlier seen speeding along Logan River Road.

No one was injured.

Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a rental car business at Bundall this morning.

Around 6.40am Emergency services were called to the business at the intersection of Ashmore and Bundall Roads after reports of a fire.

The fire was extinguished with a luxury Mercedes and the premises being extensively damaged.

No one was injured in the incident.

A crime scene has been declared and investigations into the cause of the fire are continuing.

Anyone with any information to offer police or may have vision or dashcam in the area is urged to come forward.

Appeal for information: Serious traffic crash, Hill

Police are appealing for the driver involved in a hit-and-run between a vehicle and a pedestrian in Daisy Hill today, July 19, to come forward.

Initial investigations indicate just after 9am, a silver Toyota SUV travelling on Allamanda Drive struck a woman.

The driver of the SUV failed to remain on the scene.

The female pedestrian was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are appealing for the driver or witnesses, especially those with dashcam vision of the incident or the moments leading up to it to come forward.

Investigations are continuing. There are no further details available at this time.

Unlawful wounding charges,

Police have charged two men following an unlawful wounding in Labrador last night, July 18.

Initial information indicates around 8:45pm, emergency services were called to a Middle Street residence following reports of a stabbing.

It will be alleged at approximately 8.40pm, three men have become involved in a verbal altercation at a Middle Street property which has escalated to a physical altercation on the street.

During the altercation, a 31-year-old Nerang man sustained a significant stab wound to his neck and a laceration to his left forearm and ring finger.

He was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

A 56-year-old Southport man and a 20-year-old Labrador man were arrested at the scene and have been charged with unlawful wounding (domestic violence offence).

Both are due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today.

A 42-year-old man has been charged with arson offences following an investigation into a fire at a South Brisbane house yesterday morning, July 17.

Police were called to a Mollison Street property around 12.45am yesterday to reports of a house on fire.

The house was completely gutted by the fire.

Three occupants, one 23-year-old South Brisbane man and two 22-year-old South Brisbane men, exited the premises without injury.

It is alleged the house fire is linked to a vegetation fire that occurred in a garden bed around 1:30am on Hocking Street.

Following investigations into the fires, detectives arrested a 42-year-old South Brisbane man yesterday afternoon. He was charged with four counts each of arson and one count of setting fire to vegetation and is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court today, July 18.

Multiple charges following crash,

Police have charged a man following a single-vehicle traffic crash on Crusader Way, Nerang last night, July 17.

At approximately 11:34pm, police were called to reports of a Mazda 6 crashed into a fence near the intersection of Crusader Way and Centurion Crescent.

It is alleged that the driver left the scene on foot. Upon police arrival the male driver was located a short time after and taken into custody.

The 40-year-old Birtinya man has been charged with driving U.I.L, driving without a driver licence, driving without due care, possession of a knife, and possession of a restricted item (baton).

He is due to appear in Southport Magistrates Court today, July 18.

Suspicious house fire, Brisbane

Police are appealing for witnesses or any vision in relation to a suspicious fire at a home in South Brisbane overnight.

At 12.45am this morning, July 17, emergency services were called to a house fire on Mollison Street.

Three occupants, one 23-year-old South Brisbane man and two 22-year-old South Brisbane men, exited the premises without injury.

Police have declared a crime scene and investigations remain ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.

Early investigations indicate the house fire may be linked to a vegetation fire that occurred in a garden bed around 1:30am, July 17, on Hocking Street.

Fatal traffic crash,

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after a man died in a three-vehicle traffic crash on Computer Road in Yatala this afternoon, July 15.

Initial investigations indicate at approximately 2.07pm, a truck was travelling west along Computer Road when it struck a Holden Commodore which was pushed into a parked Ford Courier utility.

The driver of the Ford Courier, a 57-year-old Woodridge man, was standing near the driver’s side of the vehicle at the time and was also struck.

He was rendered first aid; however, was later declared deceased at the scene.

The truck driver, a 46-year-old from Murarrie is assisting police with enquires.

Witnesses or anyone with information is urged to contact police.

Unlawful wounding charges, George

Police have charged a 19-year-old Yarrabilba man following alleged wounding incidents in St George on Saturday morning, July 13.

It will be alleged at approximately midnight, an altercation occurred on Henry Street, resulting in a 24-year-old St George man sustaining stab wounds.

It will be further alleged, several people went to assist the victim, resulting in a 18-year-old St George man and a 35-year-old St George woman also sustaining stab wounds.

A short time later Police arrived at the scene and took the 19-year-old Yarrabilba man into custody.

He was charged with two counts of wounding in a public place while adversely affected by an intoxicating substance and one count of act to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded in custody and is expected to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 16.

Two victims were released from hospital with minor injuries, and one victim remains in hospital in a stable condition.

Homicide investigation,

Police have arrested a 36-year-old man in relation to a homicide investigation following the death of a woman at Leichhardt this morning, July 15.

Around 9.15am, police were called to a Flinders Drive address to conduct a welfare check.

Upon arrival, police located a 28-year-old woman deceased and a crime scene was declared.

Officers, with the help of Polair, tracked a man in a vehicle and tyre deflation device was deployed, before the Toyota sedan came to a stop at Ipswich Boonah Road at Peak Crossing, where one man was taken into custody around 10.15am.

The vehicle has been towed for forensic examination.

Police are also searching for any items of interest at Wyaralong Dam, that may have been used in connection with the alleged offence.

Anyone with information that could assist with police investigations, is urged to contact police.

Police are investigating after a teenager sustained a serious wound at Robina.

Around 11.05am police were called to a residence after reports a 15-year-old boy had been stabbed.

Emergency services provided treatment to the boy on scene before he was transported to hospital where he is undergoing surgery.

Another 15-year-old boy has been taken into custody and is assisting police with their investigation.

Early investigations indicate the boys are known to each other.

A crime scene has been declared.

Marine incident,

Police have located the body of a 45-year-old Clagiraba man following a search and rescue operation at Lake Somerset today, July 14.

Emergency services were initially called to a location near Esk Kilcoy Road around 8:50am following reports of a missing boat.

A search and rescue operation was launched, involving water police, specialist officers, aerial assets, and partner agencies.

At approximately 4pm, officers located the vessel and one person deceased in the water within the search area.

Investigations into the circumstances of the initial incident are underway, with officers appealing to anyone who may have relevant vision or may have witnessed the incident to contact police if you haven’t already done so.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Unlawful wounding, Paradise

Police are investigating following an unlawful wounding incident at Surfers Paradise this morning, July 14.

Emergency services were called to Orchid Avenue just after 2.30am to reports of a disturbance between a group of people.

Upon arrival, police declared a crime scene after a 20-year-old Palm Beach man was located with a stab wound.

He was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

It is understood three men left the scene in a vehicle, prior to police arrival.

At approximately 3.10am, a black Holden Commodore was located abandoned in Molendinar following a single-vehicle traffic crash.

Three men were taken into police custody nearby a short time later and are assisting police with investigations.
