🌊🌴 Last weekend, Kai, Alizienne (Izzie), and I embarked on the unforgettable @ladymusgrave_experience and I’m so excited to share our adventure!
From a delightful morning tea on the scenic boat trip to a fascinating island tour learning about birds and turtles, and spotting vibrant coral reefs and turtles from a glass bottom boat – it was magical! Kai loved snorkeling, while Izzie and I enjoyed the view. The fresh prawn lunch was the cherry on top. 🍤✨

Christine nominated her sister Gaye for a Hitz Helping Hand
My sister, Gaye, has a heart of gold and will do anything for anyone. She has battled through as a single parent raising her 6 children (some requiring additional support with Aspergers, ADHD and being on the spectrum.) and now her eldest son, Robert, has enlisted in the Australian Army and marches out in Kapooka in July. Gaye volunteers so much time to Rugby League also spends time volunteering at the speedway when time permits. It would be amazing to be able to give her a helping hand with getting her to Kapooka to see Robert march out and enjoy her proud parent moment.

If you ask anyone she is just the best human and I would love to help take some of this pressure off her” - Jess

Tracey nominated her friend Lisa for a Hitz Helping Hand.
My friend Lisa is the most selfless person I have ever met in my life. As a Grandmother Lisa has taken on the full time raising of her 3 granddaughters. Rose is level 3 asd. & Rhylee has yet to be diagnosed, but is extremely high maintenance. Lisa takes them to all their specialist appointments and never gets time for herself. Lisa takes such amazing care of the girls & gives them such a wonderful life. I honestly have no idea how she does it.

Liz nominated her friend Tiana for a Hitz Helping Hand.
“Tiana is my sweet friend who goes out of her way to help anyone who asks. She is the hardest working Mum I know.. Her husband recently had back surgery which put them so far into debt. On top of that, her daughter had to have surgery to get her tonsils out. Tiana took all her sick leave from work and so much leave without pay. Her cat recently got sick and had to pay expensive vet bills. She has no family support in Bundy. She is truly incredible and so deserving” – Liz

Kylee nominate her friend Paula for a Hitz Helping Hand.
“My closest and dearest friend Paula has been doing it tough, she recently lost her husband to cancer. Paula has always put everyone else first and never takes time for herself. She saved my life when I was pregnant and has always been there for me. Paula is really deserving and such an angel on this earth” – Kylee

Jen nominated her son Cohen for a Hitz Helping Hand.
“Cohen, has been selected to play Futsal for Australia. The cost involved to get Cohen over to Taiwan is $6000. This is a massive achievement to be selected to play for your country and he has been fundraising but has come up short and he is supposed to leave in August. Cohen is very humble and would hate that I am entering him in this, but my job as a mum is to be proud and embarrass him” – Jen

Tanya struggles every week but will still help out even when she has nothing . Tanya travels to Brisbane frequently with her son for treatments and puts her whole heart into his care and she also recently fractured her wrist which made life very hard for her. Montana nominated her Mum Leanne for a Hitz Helping Hand.
I'm nominating my mum because she is never short of putting me first. We became homeless forcing Mum to sell loved objects just so we had food to eat. My mum worked hard to build from nothing to having a small house we rent. My mum deserves the world. My mum truly deserves a helping hand.

This past Friday, I had the absolute pleasure of diving into the Blend Your Own Rum Experience at Bundaberg Rum, and let me tell you, it was fantastic! Crafting my very own ‘Bowie’s Blend’—a perfect mix of smooth and bold flavours—was an unforgettable highlight.
The tour around the distillery was fascinating. Seeing those massive molasses wells and learning about the distillation process up close was a real treat. Plus, the museum is an absolute treasure trove of Bundy Rum history, making the experience both educational and enjoyable.
From tasting premium rums straight from the barrel to crafting your own blend to take home, it’s an experience I highly recommend. If you’re a rum lover or just curious about the process, the Bundaberg Rum Distillery is a must-visit destination for a day you’ll never forget!
A huge thank you to my tour guides, Sandy and Jaydon, who made the experience even more enjoyable with their knowledge and enthusiasm.
Hannah nominated her friend Tegan for a Hitz Helping Hand.
I first met Tegan at DV court about 4 years ago and we bonded over both being beauty therapists and single mums, and have been very good friends ever since. Tegan is a very passionate advocate for other people and ready to jump into fight for anyone else. Her and her boys desperately need help and she is far to proud to ask” - Hannah
