We make compelling content for the 21st century. We work in narrative and documentary across digital platforms, with a focus on highlighting the creative industries, innovation and technology. Right now we're turning the traditional Electronic Press Kit on its head and finding new ways to connect with audiences that want to know the story behind the story -- because meta is better.

A very late congratulations to Brian Loewe for his .qld Gold for his work on the Castle NFT project.

Beneath the old museum was an untouched library with an old broken fan. We thought, this is very Blade Runner. Gaffer, Owen Smith set up a light and a ladder and put producer, Genevieve Larin to work manually spinning the fan for each take.

A huge congratulations to the team for their work ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

Shot in one hot night beneath The Old Museum on and with a micro crew, we created this caper to draw intrigue and build hype around the project.

What is Castle? Is this part of the Blade Runner cinematic universe? Why did God Emperor Bezos release his manhunter drones? Stay tuned for answers to at least one of these questions soon.

This was one our all time favourite projects. ๐Ÿ‘โœจ
We were approached by artist, Sethius the with an open brief: โ€œI want something exciting, mysterious, and coolโ€ that would promote the ethos and โ€˜vibeโ€™ of the work before explaining it. Castle is a world-first, innovative NFT Puzzle project on Polygon, combining traditional hand-drawn artwork with the fun and gamification of collections and puzzles.

Shot in one long and sweaty night at The Old Museum in Brisbane, writer and director Tony Walsh concepted the idea of a tech-noir inspired mystery โ€” a physical hunt to visualise the digital hunt the collectors themselves would go on.

Cinematographer Brian Loewe opted for the P+S Kowa anamorphics to replicate that vintage scifi Blade Runner aesthetic, coupled with the Sony FX9 for low light performance. This project was an absolute joy of creativity, a rare moment where a client approaches you with trust and freedom to make something great.

Now that's Dolphin Smart! ๐Ÿฌ๐Ÿ‰

When the Dolphins NRL marketing team comes to you and says: "we want to do something no one else is doing" โ€” well, that's how you get our attention. ๐Ÿ‘€

We needed to make something that informed and entertained, that kept people's attention and appealed directly to diehard NRL fans. So we made our writer Jessie Hughes watch a ton of NRL, ###X & Ladbrokes commercials until she became a burly mid-thirties Queenslander. From this she came up with what will undoubtedly become an iconic zinger for every commentator's toolbox - Dolphin Smart!

Director Tony Walsh brought his trademark snappy dialogue and dad jokes to polish up the script, and working with cinematographer Brian Loewe cooked up some visually mesmerizing transitions and punchy coverage.

Our editor Chris Ashton dialled the humour up to 11 with some crisp sound design, knocking out shorter and alt versions for the marketing team to experiment with. But for us, we love the full unabridged version below.

Big thanks to Dolphins marketing & events legends - Amir Rezaee & Katie Croll for bringing us in for this one.

Featuring the incredible comedic talents of Sam Monaghan, Gabby Carbon, Sasa Lemalu & Chris Slater.

This 'small wins' shoot was a breeze. We had enough time to be creative and to peer pressure Brian Loewe to get in the pool and "swim" alongside the absolute legend Cate Campbell. It was a privilege bringing this to life for Just So ๐ŸŠโ€โ™€๏ธ๐ŸŽฅ๐ŸŒŠ

Production facilitating for Just So was a pleasure because it meant we got to spend the day at the pool with Cate Campbell learning how she prepares for competition. We'll never be high performance athletes but we can get onboard with the lollies and avo toast ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ“๐Ÿฅ‘

After years of operating with the same logo, website and mindset, we felt like it was time for a change.

We wanted to step up our game creatively and technically, but to do that we needed to be able to convince our clients that investing in great storytelling is worth every cent.

We hired our our long-time friends (and office neighbours) Pixel Palace, who helped us look deep within ourselves and asked the big questions: "Who are we?", "What do we want?" and "What do we call this shade of orange?".

We knew the work they did for our brand across design, copy and web was stellarโœจ but now we can say that it won a silver BADC award ๐Ÿ†

A huge congratulations to Pixel Palace. It was an absolute pleasure working with you guys ๐Ÿ‘โค๏ธ We're so excited for where this new brand will take us ๐Ÿš€โœจ

This was a very wholesome project.

One day, one location, three actors, and about a dozen short scenes to illustrate the light and dark of the incredibly emotional and complicated task of being a grandparent carer.

Genevieve Larin and Luke found a beautiful Queenslander in leafy Paddington. The yard was filled with fruits, veggies and a giant mulberry tree (we had to make sure the crew didn't eat them haha). We felt it was a nurturing environment to grow up in and a perfect home to tell their story.

This had to be authentic, naturalistic and restrained, with no scripted dialogue in sight. We improvised all the action on the day and let the actors lead the coverage. It was all about setting the good vibes and getting these *absolute strangers* to look like a family on screen.

Cinematographer Brian Loewe and Tony Walsh decided they wanted anamorphics for this one, but with such a tight schedule and a modest crew we had to be really smart with how we shot it, moving at almost doco pace.

A super wholesome day with a great cast, crew and a random dog we found along the way ๐Ÿ•โœจ

Retirement isn't always caravans and cruises. For some grandparents, it's a second lap of raising kids, stepping up to care for them when no one else is can.

An incredibly special film for Wellways and the Department of Child Safety, Seniors and Disability Services, raising awareness of an often overlooked role in our society for National Grandparents Day.

Over the past couple of months we embarked on a mammoth project with QUT (Queensland University of Technology) to create course videos that advertise and showcase some of the talented student works. For the Bachelor of Industrial Design course we leaned into a sci-fi aesthetic to compliment the student's work and appeal to young designers.

Over the past few months, we've been going on a journey of development with our friends at Pixel Palace, asking ourselves the big questions โ€” and then finding a way to articulate that beyond just the words "vibesโœจ" & "aesthetic๐ŸคŒ".

Luckily, Jen Jeavons and her team are very good at their job, capturing our essence and ethos in a bottle and then turning that into beautiful letters and numbers.

Check out our fresh branding and slick new website, and say 'hello stranger'.

You're a passionate, creative nerd. While people were out partying, you were tuning into the Adobe conference. You're the person every other film student wanted to cut their short film because they knew you'd knock it out of the park. Now, you're out there rocketing your way through the industry for whoever can afford you like some sort of filmmaker bounty hunter.

You love deep-diving into new programs, automating or optimizing things, and having a clean desktop. You probably talked about Whiplash for a whole week (and that's cool, I loved it too). You're great at taking the initiative on projects and have good personal accountability. You love your work, but you're not precious about it either -- you see the creative process as a problem-solving collab, and love to get feedback on your work.

As Queenslanders we do know a thing or two about disasters, and putting a positive spin on them was a great challenge.
