the emotional tribute to Albert Ayler - by Peter Brötzmann, Toshinoro Kondo, William Parker and Hamid Drake. originally released on cd 1994 by FMP, now on glorious heavy double vinyl on cien fuegos.
brötzmann: "The idea of expressing my love of and admiration for Albert Ayler - both man and music - in a musical statement is not new. We both tried to do similar or almost identical things at the same point in time, each independently and without knowing anything about each other - each of us within his own culture."

In 2015, after a lot of touring as a duo and some live cds, Peter Brötzmann and P**l Nilssen-Love decided to go to a studio and do some real recording - but after the sessions the mixing process somehow stopped and the sublime recordings went unfinished in a antwerp studio-safe...
then corona happened and BRÖ and PNL were eager to again work on it and get it out to the world. they asked us to jump in and of course Trost was happy to do so... some heavy months of mixing by Martin Siewert followed; Peter and P**l sending around beautful cover ideas, and at last there will happen 2 single LPs (later together on a CD) and a live LP/CD from that days, scheduled for 2024.

thankfull that we met and he decided to work with us , cien fuegos on the reissues of his groundbreaking FMP label. I will never forget the many talks about music, his uncompromising, tough label and publishing work. I could learn a ton from him.

I was happy to see the recoring of HIDROS 9 in Warsaw, initiated by the Avant Art Festival a maelstrom of avantgarde jazz, noise and contemporary experimental music, with great soloists, Hedvig Mollestad colin stetson, dieb13, Anders Nyqvist , Per-Åke Holmlander.
and ENSEMBLE E, a mix of deep folkmusic of eastern, southern and scandinavian folk music and improvisation.

sorry to say, that with today we have to increase our prices - at least it's the first time in over 10 years.
we had hoped to ride it out, all the energy crisis and inflation and rising costs of record producing, but, with a landlord who increases the rent the third time in a year - this month again for 60 euro! - it's just not possible anymore. hope y'all still can afford some records of the bands/artists you love from time to time...
