4Plus is a Documentary Photography Center founded by a group of professional female photographers in 2012 in Armenia.

4Plus is a growing platform of visual storytelling exploring, documenting, and acting as a witness of our time. Promotion of documentary photography and improvement of the professional field is the key activity of 4Plus. Our mission is to raise Armenia’s political, socio-economic, ecological, human rights issues, and show how these relate to global events, creating a dialogue for change and promot

ing democratic values. Education and sharing of knowledge are in the scope of activities of 4Plus. Bearing this in mind, we are committed to organize workshops, masterclasses, series of lectures, and workshops on photography.
4Plus also undertakes publications of catalogues and books on photography, as well as organizes exhibitions.

Our Story

4Plus is a collective by Armenian women photographers with the aim to develop documentary photography and to empower women in Armenia and beyond.

Empowering not only women photographers, and women in general, but all those whose rights are being violated, by bringing their issues to light, has been the core of our activity. Each one of us has been committed to documenting social issues, violations of human rights and visualising cultural particularities for many years.

We also organise workshops, exhibitions and lectures. 4Plus was founded in 2012, current members are Anahit Hayrapetyan, Nazik Armenakyan, Nelli Shishmanyan and Piruza Khalapyan.
