Wicknell Chivhayo has responded to a Mirror appeal for donations to assist Misheck Chenjerai, a Chibaya Primary School head stuck in India after a successful open-heart operation. Chibaya would not be released from an Indian Hospital until he clears a shortfall of US$3 000. Chivhayo deposited US$7 000 into Chenjerai’s account.
“Done 100%. I see they had raised $4 000 and shortfall was now US$3 000 but I just put US$7 000 so when they get back home they have somewhere to start,” said Chivhayo in his tweet.

Misheck Chenjerai, a school head at Chibaya primary in Masvingo and a former chairman of St Joseph Guild of the Roman Catholic Church is stuck in India after a successful open heart operation.
He has a shortfall and the hospital is not going to release him until it’s cleared. Delays in paying the bill will see the shortfall going up because hospital accommodation is US$200 per day.
A US$7 000 shortfall arose after doctors doing the operation detected new problems that needed to be attended to. This also meant that he had to stay in the hospital longer than earlier planned for.

High Court Judge, Justice Katiyo has given former Minister of Education, Dzingai Mutumbuka leave to execute an eviction order against Harrison Marange and his wife Demetria Zirenga from his house in Chisipite Harare, after the couple bought it from Jonah Ngome using a forged title deed. Justice Katiyo said Marange and Zirenga are being mischievous and inhuman by insisting on staying in Mutumbuka's house when evidence shows that the former Minister is the legitimate owner. He ordered the couple to be evicted immediately and said they should show remorse and apologise to Mutumbuka.

THIRD WEEK OF ADVENT YEAR C.
FIRST READING “I will raise up for David” a righteous Branch.”A reading from the Book of Jeremiah (JEREMIAH 23: 5 – 8)
“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’ “Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when men shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”
The Word of the Lord.
RESPONSORIAL PSALM Taken from Psalm 72: 1 – 2, 12 – 13, 18 – 19 (R.) 7
R/. In his days shall justice flourish, and great peace forever.
O God, give your judgement to the king, to a king’s son your justice, that he may judge your people in justice, and your poor in right judgement. R/.
For he shall save the needy when they cry, the poor, and those who are helpless. He will have pity on the weak and the needy, and save the lives of the needy. R/.
Blest be the Lord, God of Israel,Who alone works wonders,Ever blest his glorious name.Let his glory fill the earth. Amen! Amen! R/.
GOSPEL ACCLAMATION
Alleluia.O Leader of the house of Israel! You gave the law to Moses on Sinai: come and redeem us with an outstretched arm.Alleluia. https://masvingomirror.com/catholic-daily-liiturgical-guide-18-12-24/

Naphtal Dauramanzi (90), the Reformed Church of Zimbabwe (RCZ)’s first black school principal is no more.
He was as much decorated as an educationist as he was as a member of the liberation War Effort Committee of the late 70s’. His war escapades obviously deserved him some recognition but things have changed. https://masvingomirror.com/dauramanzi-first-black-rcz-school-principal-dies/

The Mirror this week used Professor Rangarirai Masanganise's picture in a story in which he commented on the introduction of Chinese Language at a school in Gutu where he is a director. In a mischievous article and irresponsible journalism, an online news organisation picked up the picture and used it in a sensitive political commentary that has nothing to do with Professor Masanganise. Professor Masanganise has received many calls from friends, relatives and fellow professionals seeking clarification on the commentary. The Mirror wishes to assure the public that the pic used by the online publication was solely for our use and the said commentary has nothing to do with Professor Masanganise. Professor Masanganise is shocked and has distanced himself from the political commentary.
