And the cherry on top? David Nyamufarira’s EXPLOSIVE performance at the Corky Classic indoor meet!

Running in a different heat, David shattered Tapiwa Makarawu’s school record in the 60m, a record he set during his time at NMJC. David blazed to a 6.57 finish, surpassing Makarawu’s record by 0.06 seconds! Also setting a NEW Zimbabwe national record in the 60m, previously held jointly by Olmpians Gabriel Mvumvure and Ngoni Makusha (Snr).

What a moment! So proud of you, David!

🌟 Throwback Thursday: Celebrating Tracy Cox 🌟

Today, as part of our Zimbabwe Champions Chronicles, we honor the incredible Tracy Cox-Smyth, a retired Zimbabwean springboard diver and Commonwealth silver medallist who graced the Olympic stage in 1988 and 1992. 🥈✨

Tracy’s journey in diving was deeply influenced by her father, Geoff Cox, a former diver and respected coach who dedicated over three decades to nurturing the Zimbabwean diving community. He ran the Geoff Cox Adventure Center in Nyanga, where countless schoolchildren discovered the joy of sport.

Now residing in the UK, Tracy is a true inspiration as she volunteers as a “buddy” at sporting events for disabled athletes, including wounded ex-servicemen and women, around the world. Her commitment to giving back reflects the spirit of champions! 💪🌍

Join us in celebrating Tracy’s remarkable achievements and her ongoing impact in the community!

WHAT. A. YEAR! As we close out 2024, we’re beaming with pride at all we’ve accomplished!

From hosting the ANOCA Zone VI Athletes Forum to participating in the African Games in Ghana, the Tennis Africa Junior Champs, and the Athletics African Senior Champs, amongst other major tournaments, our athletes have been shining bright on the international stage!

And then, of course, the highlight of the year was Paris 2024! Our 7 talented athletes made us proud, showcasing their skills and determination on the world’s biggest stage.

But it wasn’t all about the competitions... We’ve also been busy with various development programs, including the Advanced Sports Management Course (ASMC) and the Olympic Education Program.

We’re also grateful for the partnerships we’ve built, particularly with the French Embassy and the French community, with whom we collaborated on several projects.

And none of this would have been possible without the support of our amazing sponsors: Nedbank, Total Fitness Gym, ZRP, and Minerva, as well as the Norwegian Olympic and Paralympic Committee and Confederation of Sports (NIF) - thank you for walking with us this year!

As we look to the future, we’re excited to build on this momentum and continue supporting our athletes on their journey to success.

Here’s to an amazing 2025 and beyond!
