What a profound and deeply affirming message!🙌🏾🔥

Since you have tagged me in this comment, my dear sister, I will happily respond. I have been a man for the past 54 years, and as a man I want to tell you something. The average man, the ordinary man I have met during those 54 years, loves women with natural hair. That is what I know, because that is what I have experienced, and that is what I hear other men say, even in men’s groups.

That said, it does not mean they will not date someone who does not have natural hair. They will. But given a choice, if they have to choose, and they are forced to choose, they will almost always choose someone with natural hair. And I feel the same way too. It is my personal choice, by the way. I personally prefer natural hair.

I also do not like my woman to wear make-up. If she asked me what I preferred, I would prefer her without make-up. All that make-up nonsense, to me, is just an insult to beauty. That is my personal preference.

And of course, people have a right to do what they want with themselves. But we also have a right, as men, to say what we consider to be more beautiful than something else. And my experience has always been that the men I have encountered prefer women in their natural hair.

Black women are the only women in the world with hair that grows towards heaven. They can do so many styles with their hair, and I find that beautiful and a gift from God.

On a more economic note, African women spend about US$6 billion a year on wigs, weaves and braids. That is roughly the size of Zimbabwe’s national budget. It is insane when you think about it.

Women have a right to choose, men have a right to choose too. When men date women who wear artificial hair, it does not mean they are endorsing artificial hair. They are not dating them for their hair.
