The Zimbabwe Sables are brimming with confidence as they prepare to face Algeria in the Rugby Africa Cup final on Sunday, despite the absence of three key players.

Tino Mavesera, Cleopas Kundiona, and Ian Prior have returned to their clubs, leaving a gap in the Sables’ lineup. However, head coach Pieter Benade is optimistic about his team’s ability to adapt.

The Chevrons have set Ireland a target of 158 runs to win the one-off Test Match at Stormont after being bowled out for 197 runs inside 71 overs.

Dion Myers (57), scored his maiden half-ton in the second innings while Sean Williams scored 40 to try and help the Chevrons post a respectable total, but Ireland's Andy McBrine was top notch claiming 4 wickets for 38 runs assisted by Mark Adair and Craig Young who claimed two-scalps apiece to ensure that Zimbabwe do not get closer to the 200-run lead mark.

Zimbabwe now need to be disciplined with their bowling and fielding to defend 157 runs if they are to win in Belfast.

RBZ injects US$50 million into interbank foreign exchange market

Story by Stanley James, Business Editor

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe (RBZ) has injected US$50 million into the interbank foreign exchange market to ease demand for import requirements and consolidate the stability of the Zimbabwe Gold ( ZiG) currency.

The move is in line with the features of a structured currency where international reserves are released into the market to sustain foreign currency demand by industry and commerce.

Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor, Dr John Mushayavanhu confirmed the immediate injection of US$50 million into the interbank foreign exchange market, saying it was necessitated by a rise in demand for foreign currency by industry and commerce to source inputs or raw materials.

Industrialisation week an opportunity to market Masvingo province

Story by Mercy Bofu-Matinha

THE forthcoming SADC Industrialisation Week, which will run from the 28th of July to the 2nd of August, will be an opportunity for Masvingo province to market its vast agriculture and tourism opportunities given that the province houses more than 50 per cent of the country's water bodies.

Located in the southeastern region of Zimbabwe, Masvingo province has an economy largely centred on agriculture and tourism.

The province boasts more than 50 percent of water bodies in the country, among them the largest inland dam Tugwi Mukosi, whose masterplan was recently approved, Lake Mutirikwi and an earmarked Tende-Runde dam, hence vast opportunities for investors in the SADC region in irrigation development given the threats of climate change.

Again, in the tourism sector, Masvingo province is home to the Great Zimbabwe Ruins, a World Heritage Site which Zimbabwe draws its name from, Gonarezhou National Park and Chilojo Cliffs, among others.
