IGNORANCE IS ONE OF AFRICA'S SETBACK

🌑The judge asked the killer of former Egyptian President, 'Why did you kill Anwar Sadat?

🌑He said to him, "Because he is secular!"
The judge replied: "What does secular mean?"
The killer said: "I don't know!"

🌑In the case of the attempted assassination of the late Egyptian writer, Naguib Mahfouz, the judge asked the man who stabbed him "Why did you stab him?"

🌑The terrorist said: "Because of his novel - The children of our neighborhood".The judge asked him: "Have you read this novel?"The criminal said: "No!"

🌑Another judge asked the terrorist who killed the Egyptian writer 'F***j Fara': "Why did you murder F***j?"The terrorist replied: "Because he is an unfaithful!"The judge asked him: "How did you know he was an unfaithful?

🌑”The terrorist replied: "According to the books he wrote".The judge said: "Which of his books shows he is an unfaithful?"The Terrorist: "I haven't read his books!"Judge: "How?"The terrorist replied: "I can't read or write!"

🌑Hate never spreads through knowledge. It always. spreads through ignorance
We talk about ignorance. This is how societies pay the price of ignorance ′′.

🌑This is my end of year to Africa ...let us get ignorance out of us ....we look for foreign investors when we vacant invest in Africa ourselves .What bewitched us ?

Dr. Matsanga: ALIGN THE LAW WITH REALITY.

Pan African Forum Chairman Dr. David Matsanga had foreseen the current South African crisis and wrote to South African authorities earlier not to jail Zuma but his advice was not heeded to. In his reaction to the current chaos in South Africa, Matsanga has adviced other African Judiciaries to focus more on alternative disputes resolution rather than ignoring political realities in their judgements.

CRISIS IN OPPONENT’S BEDROOMS NOT IN ZIMBABWE

“Addressing Central Committee (CC) members at the Zanu PF headquarters Friday, President Mnangagwa said the much-talked about Zimbabwe crisis only existed in his opponents' bedrooms.

The Zimbabwean leader said the central committee meeting by his party came at a time his government was under siege from the enemy that was abusing social media "to reverse and destabilise, unity, peace, security and development".

That is the truth and let the truth be said

Thanks

THANKS FOR CLARIFICATION MR.PRESIDENT

His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa speaks on the irreversibility of the revolutionary land reform program .

On the Global Compensation Deed Agreement, President Mnangagwa said the revolutionary party would never deviate from its ethos where land was the main reason for the protracted war that brought independence in 1980.

“Our colonisers took our land and we waged a war that culminated into independence and we took it back, and that will never change,” he said.

“The position is that as Zimbabweans we shall not pay compensation for land and that remains . . . we are saying no taxpayer’s money will be used to pay that compensation,” he said.

The President said a committee involving all stakeholders will be mandated with sourcing funds for compensation.

“We have set up a committee including white former farmers to go to Europe where they will raise the money to pay under the Agreement. Then we hear some individuals who are unable to comprehend just one provision saying ‘we want to reverse the land reform programme’, NO!

“The purpose of the revolution was our land and we shall not deviate from that, we shall not depart from our land,” he said.

Reviving the country’s roads: the path to prosperity

✅Zimbabwe under President Mnangagwa is evidently at the beginning of an exciting journey towards prosperity. This is all aimed at fulfilling the promises made in Zanu PF's campaign manifesto during the previous election to develop the country through focusing less on politics and more on development initiatives.

✅However, this will not be a smooth ride but what matters is the fact that the government is determined to achieve its 2030 goals. President Mnangagwa promised a world class infrastructure, which is quintessential to Vision 2030. At the heart of ED's economic reform is rehabilitation of infrastructure.

✅Road construction and rehabilitation occupies a central role in this plan. This is premised on the fact that essential infrastructure is arguably the most important of all the public assets, contributing to economic development and growth whilst providing access to economic opportunities, employment, health and education services.

✅Roads connect Zimbabweans and levels the playing field and play a part in ensuring that all Zimbabweans enjoy their basic and fundamental right to access healthcare, access markets, and the freedom of movement.

✅Dealing with the challenges in the road sector is part of government’s strategy aimed at fighting poverty, addressing marginalisation of communities as well as removing barriers that limit productive individuals from contributing to society and the economy.

✅Investments in a well-connected road network is therefore, good for business and balanced development in our country. It opens up previously inaccessible areas whilst also crowding in private sector investment to our growth points and service centres. In the process, the economic and social development in the country’s rural communities is stimulated.

✅Quality roads also ensure safe and enjoyable travel for the commuting public, whilst reducing costs to the overall economy by minimising travel times, loss of lives and property through accidents.

✅This government is thus targeting the upgrading of 781km of the country’s road network, regravelling 483km and constructing 22 bridges. Each of the targeted roads has been identified including specific works for the year, which provides an opportunity for citizens to monitor progress in implementing planned works.

✅In order to ensure that this feat is reached, the government has ring fenced resources towards this critical sector and the Department of Roads is rehabilitating or upgrading at least five trunk roads from gravel to bituminous surfacing in every province.

President Mnangagwa sets in motion a robust plan to revive the tourism sector post Covid-19

✅President Mnangagwa has just launched a campaign to revive the country’s coronavirus-hit tourism sector. The President paid a visit to Victoria Falls, the country's top tourist destination, to unveil the “National Tourism Recovery and Growth Strategy." The purpose of the strategy is to facilitate the recovery of the tourism sector in the post COVID-19 period.

✅The Tourism Recovery Plan seeks to provide relief packages to affected tourism businesses including small ventures within the value chain, save and secure jobs, and reestablish contact with the local, regional and international tourism markets.

✅The National Tourism Recovery and Growth Strategy is part of the efforts by the government to repackage Victoria Falls as the lead tourist destination. This clearly shows that the President is leading from the front in appreciating the significance of the tourism sector and its contribution to the economy.

✅The recovery strategy will initially be focused on boosting domestic tourism, while authorities monitor and assess the implications of resuming international tourism throughout the remaining months of 2020.

✅This strategy is meant to ensure that the country starts tapping into the sector once more, which is a significant foreign currency earner for the country. The strategy re-assures confidence in the market and encourage visitors to travel to and within Zimbabwe.

✅This comes as the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) estimates that in 2020, global international tourist arrivals could decline between 20% and 30% with international tourist arrivals in Zimbabwe declining between 30% and 80%, making a loss of between US$0.5 and US$1.1 billion in tourism receipts.

✅The tourism industry has been one of the worst-hit sectors by the coronavirus outbreak with hotels and operators falling to zero business resulting in workers being sent home. With international travel under lockdown, local tourism, as it is in other countries, will have to bank its recovery on domestic tourism which was over the years being undermined.

✅Yet domestic tourism has the potential to contribute up to 30% to the total tourism receipts. Domestic tourism is thus key in post-Covid-19 tourism recovery efforts. This effort stems from President Mnangagwa’s election pledge of supporting jobs and growing the national economy

Key priorities in Government of Zimbabwe’s Infrastructure Development Initiatives

President Mnangagwa’s government is taking a methodological approach to revamping the country’s infrastructure. There are a number of projects in different sectors of the economy in which the government has a firm commitment to successfully completing.

The Harare – Beitbridge – Chirundu road development is one of the major priorities. The National Railways of Zimbabwe (NRZ) will be recapitalized. The RGM and JMK International airports will continue being upgraded. The urban mass transport system will receive focal attention this year.

These will be some of the specific areas to be worked on under the transport sector. ZWL$311 million will be disbursed to local authorities for the prioritization of water and sanitation services. ZWL$2 billion will be directed at addressing the housing lag of approximately 3 million houses.

Some of the other areas to be embarked on will be the formative developments for Mt Hampden, Mbare and Makokoba flats. The regularization of Harare South will also be a priority. An upgrade for 20 district and 7 provincial hospitals will one of the major focuses under the health sector.

Another priority will be the expansion of specialist tertiary care services to provincial hospitals in Masvingo, Mutare and Gweru. It is reported that 100 fully furnished ambulances were procured in 2019 and will all be delivered this year.

In agriculture, there will be concerted efforts towards the rehabilitation of irrigation systems. There will also be a focus on the promotion of renewable energy use in irrigation. All these initiatives are earmarked for completion this year. It is believed that they will stimulate economic growth and also open up private sector investments.

The development of infrastructure is always a catalyst for economic recovery and subsequent growth. All of these mamoth tasks are part of President Mnangagwa’s efforts of steering the country in a more positive direction and this stems from his election pledge of creating infrastructure worthy of a new Zimbabwe as part of Vision 2030.

The troubled opposition political landscape in Zimbabwe

Zimbabwe's opposition parties and those so called revolutionary movements are in serious disarray and are fast becoming irrelevant as ZANU-PF continues to deliver more on election promises. The strength of the party has saw it scoring easy victories in recent by-elections.

Instead of introspecting on their 2018 electoral defeat to ZANU-PF, they are engaged in factionalism and splits. While the MDC is still in the process of splitting, we now hear that all is not well in the movement which is almost in extinction and some of the members have been seen trying their chances around Godfrey Tsenengamu's doomed experiment.

It is said that Saviour Kasukuwere, the founder and leader of the movement, is under attack from colleagues in this setup. The movement is now broke and members are also accussing him of being timid and ineffective.

Jonathan Moyo has refused to have anything to do with Mzembi and Kasukuwere while Patrick Zhuwao is joining South African opposition party Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF). Prof Moyo is said to have been put off by Kasukuwere’s naivety in naming his project Tyson Wabantu after the nudity-loving South African entertainer Zodwa Wabantu.

Throughout the history of Zimbabwe from 1980, we have had a number of opposition political parties which rose and died natural deaths. The only difference with their contemporary equivalents is that unlike the old parties, the new parties are founded and dismantled on social media.

Twitter hashtags can never turn into meaningful political projects. Leadership is not only inept but invisible on the political scene. The ZPP party of Walter Mzembi fell in less than a year after its leadership announced its existence on social media. ZPP fell victim to infighting following Mzembi`s conflict with other co-founders like Lloyd Msipa.

This new movement of Godfrey Tsenengamu has already failed to get takers and only a handfull of the disgrundled former supporters were seen in green looking forward to rescucitate their feeble political careers.

It is clear from our history that former ZANU PF members who attempted to form their own parties and movements to rival the revolutionary party failed to endure for a number of reasons.

All these political comeback projects are ill-fated and set for certain collapse. They are set to fail dismally because like similar projects of the 1970s and 1980s before them, they are based on personal grudges and not on the needs of the people, and therefore ideologically ungrounded.

The opposition was never influential in terms of the ability to recruit and retain members, get their voters to turn out in elections and maintain voters’ loyalty from election to election. In this regard the MDC has experienced a decrease in political party influence, declining membership, voter turnout and party system stability since its formation.

These are all facts and not matters of conjecture. Moreover, the MDC has already split into feuding factions since its formation in 1999 and it is now being deserted by its key allies and sponsors ahead of the 2023 elections.
