*POTRAZ DONATES CHRISTMAS GIFTS TO VULNERABLE CHILDREN ACROSS THE COUNTRY*

It was indeed an early Christmas gift for most of the Children's Homes around the country as the Postal & Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe (POTRAZ) company distributed food Christmas hampers to vulnerable children.

Speaking during the handover ceremony POTRAZ Director for Legal Services Mrs Cecelia Nyamutswa who stood on behalf of the Director General Gift Kalisto Machengete said, that every year the authority sets aside a significant amount of money towards programs that help bring sustainable development, especially in underdeveloped communities.

"Christmas Hamper Initiative is part of a program aimed at spreading joy and love assisting those in need during the holiday season and ensuring a joyful Christmas for those facing challenges within our communities,"

This year POTRAZ drilled and installed solar-powered boreholes in Buliilimq, Makoni, Mberengwa, and Zvishavane Districts which face persistent water challenges and also played a center role during the Covid -19 pandemic, and gave aid to Cyclone Idai victims just mention a few.

Speaking one of the beneficiaries of the Christmas initiative commended POTRAZ for this gesture of remembering children in homes during this festive season.

" We are grateful to POTRAZ for this gift, of groceries for it will go a long even after Christmas will not worry about what we will give the children during the January disease, we are grateful," she said.

Highlanders Football Club has confirmed the departure of head coach Baltemar Brito and his assistant Antonio Torres.
In a statement , the club also known as Bosso said the termination of the contract was mutual. Read the statement:

_The Club would like to inform its members, fans and all other stakeholders of the departure of coach Brito and assistant coach Antonio Torres._

_Coach Brito and Torres’ contracts with the club end on the 31st of December 2023, the club and the two coaches have mutually agreed not to extend their stay with the club beyond the stated period._

_The club thanks Mr. Brito and Mr. Torres for their time with the club and also wishes them all the best in their new endeavors._

Torres had already taken to social media to announce that they had left the Bulawayo-based giants. He bade farewell to Highlanders

*CCC Activist Tapfumaneyi Masaya's Murder Case Underway*

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has said police are currently investigating the murder of Tapfumaneyi Masaya.

Masaya, a clergyman and activist for the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party, was allegedly abducted and later found dead in Harare. He had been conducting a political campaign when he was abducted. The CCC has claimed that Masaya suffered severe injuries and his body had decomposed due to the injection of a harmful substance. There are calls for the police to thoroughly investigate his murder. In an update on the case, police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said:

*ZIMBABWE REPUBLIC POLICE UPDATE ON TAPFUMANEI MASAYA’S MURDER INVESTIGATION*

_Reference is made to the Police’s press statement dated 13th November 2023 and 14th November 2023 in connection with the death of Tapfumanei Masaya._

_The Police reiterates that investigations are still in progress and any relevant information will be communicated to the media and public._

_The Zimbabwe Republic Police wishes to appeal to the public or politicians to allow the investigations to proceed normally without any form of distraction or interference. Current investigations, though still in motion, indicates that this is a purely murder case._

_Full information will be released once comprehensive investigations are concluded._
