Empowering Young Minds: Anti Crime Awareness Campaign

The Chitungwiza Municipality Junior Council successfully hosted an Anti-Crime Awareness Campaign at St. Mary's Anglican Primary School.

Huge thanks to the Zimbabwe Republic Police - ZRP St Mary's department of Victim Friendly Unit (VFU) for their invaluable contribution.
ZRP Officer Munetsi educated children on critical issues:

‣ Kidnapping techniques
‣ Risks of drug and substance abuse
‣ Devastating effects of bullying
‣ Consequences of stealing
‣ Importance of preventing child marriages

Chitungwiza Municipality Junior Council conducts a three-day Leadership Training Seminar for Prospective Junior Councillors.
The training, led by Alderman Trenchard Denhere, Tanaka Mundicha, and Mutsawashe Ncozana, covered teambuilding exercises, junior council operations and collaboration with the senior council.

Councillor Beaven Murada attended the sermina and pledged that the senior council would work closely with the Junior Council to better serve the youth.

Chitungwiza Municipality Junior Council was invited by Saywhat to participate on the unpacking the core of Child justice with a distinct focus on Post Trial Reintegration of children in conflict of the law at Zesa National Training Centre, where they were having a National Students Conference
Present were the members of Epworth Junior Council and Junior Parliament Ruwa.

We aired out our views on the topic disseminated in front of different certified specialist stakeholders.

Greening Chitungwiza

Today we planted citrus trees at Zengeza 5 Primary School in commemoration of the Tree Planting Day.

It was a great and productive day as we visited the Mayor’s Mansion in Borrowdale, Harare where there was a Quiz and Debate competition on Children’s rights and the environment with a special focus on climate change.
We came First in Debate Session and Second in the Quiz competition.

🍀Donation at Stmarys Orphanage in Zengeza 3.

In a heartwarming act of kindness, Chitungwiza Municipality Junior Council have again made a generous donation of food stuffs and preloved clothes to the orphanage in Zengeza 3. This gesture is part of our ongoing efforts to support the well-being of young people in Chitungwiza.

Our compassion and commitment is to help children in chitungwiza with the little or more things we can acquire.

Maunganidze Orphanage Update

As part of the social responsibility we, Chitungwiza Junior Council donated clothings and food stuffs to Maunganidze Children's Home on the 4th of November 2023 which is located in Unit B, Seke Chitungwiza. The beautiful home has 23 children of different age groups and some of them are going to school whilst some are still toddlers. We had a wonderful time with the kids. We played games and assisted them with household chores. Through interaction we got to know the kids better. The staff told us about the challenges they are facing such as paying rental bills, accessing medicine, food, scholarships in government institutions and obtaining birth certificates. The home welcomes visitors and all those that may wish to donate. We hope to do more together with the wonderful residents of Chitungwiza.
Special thanks to Nyatsime College , Zengeza 3 high School, Zengeza 4 High school, Former Honourable Junior Councillor Arthurmello Bvukumbwe and others for donating some of the preloved materials to the Orphanage.

Protecting Our Precious Ones in Chitungwiza!.

After a number of Child accidents recorded in the past weeks, we as a Junior Council decided to take action along with the help of Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe

The safety of our children is a shared responsibility. As Chitungwiza Junior Council, we went to emphasize the importance of child safety and provide vital tips to ensure the well-being of our little ones in Primary Schools with the aid of Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe

Shown in the pictures is Jnr Cllr Denzel Whata, The Junior Mayor and Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe disseminating information about child safety guidelines to young innocent souls in primary schools of Chitungwiza.

📍Did you know that a staggering 80% of accidents involving children under the age of five occur within the confines of our homes?

Let's make Child Safety a catalyst for change, working together to safeguard our children and provide them with the secure and nurturing childhood they deserve in Chitungwiza.
