Deputy Minister of lndustry and Commerce, ZanuPF legislator for Bulawayo South, Cde Raj Modi has continued to help the country in the fight against the spread of the corona virus.
Mr Modi has in the past 2 weeks donated over 100 thousand surgical masks and over 2000 litres of hand sanitizers to various institutions in Zimbabwe. His recent donation was to the President of Zimbabwe, His Excellency, Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa at State House over the weekend. Mr Modi donated 42500 masks and 411 litres of hand sanitizers.
The ZanuPF member of Parliament has been a shinning light in Bulawayo during the pandemic. He donated to hundreds of vendors at the popular market place in downtown Bulawayo. The Minister donated 20 thousand masks and 144 bottles of sanitizers to shops and vendors doing business at the busiest market place in Matebeleland.
In an effort to also stop the spread on the virus amongst frontline workers the Minister also made a sizeable donation to the national broadcaster, ZBC in Bulawayo. Montrose studios got a serious boost by getting 5000 masks and 122 sanitizers from the ZanuPF member of Parliament.
Mr Modi says he has much more to give and help fight the spread of the virus. “ I still have thousands of masks and many more bottles of sanitizers to donate and help where possible. We are in this fight together.” said the Minister.
The minister has also made donations to Mpilo hospital, SOS children’s home, Smile for Africa in Bulawayo and numerous other places are on the cards.
The fight continues to stop the spread of Covid19 in Zimbabwe and government has implemented isolated city lockdown in Kwekwe after a surge in cases there. Zimbabwe has amassed a lot of praise globally for its vigilance in the fight against corona virus and its restrictions to curb the spread.
