Wicknell Chivhayo has responded to a Mirror appeal for donations to assist Misheck Chenjerai, a Chibaya Primary School head stuck in India after a successful open-heart operation. Chibaya would not be released from an Indian Hospital until he clears a shortfall of US$3 000. Chivhayo deposited US$7 000 into Chenjerai’s account.
“Done 100%. I see they had raised $4 000 and shortfall was now US$3 000 but I just put US$7 000 so when they get back home they have somewhere to start,” said Chivhayo in his tweet.

Misheck Chenjerai, a school head at Chibaya primary in Masvingo and a former chairman of St Joseph Guild of the Roman Catholic Church is stuck in India after a successful open heart operation.
He has a shortfall and the hospital is not going to release him until it’s cleared. Delays in paying the bill will see the shortfall going up because hospital accommodation is US$200 per day.
A US$7 000 shortfall arose after doctors doing the operation detected new problems that needed to be attended to. This also meant that he had to stay in the hospital longer than earlier planned for.

High Court Judge, Justice Katiyo has given former Minister of Education, Dzingai Mutumbuka leave to execute an eviction order against Harrison Marange and his wife Demetria Zirenga from his house in Chisipite Harare, after the couple bought it from Jonah Ngome using a forged title deed. Justice Katiyo said Marange and Zirenga are being mischievous and inhuman by insisting on staying in Mutumbuka's house when evidence shows that the former Minister is the legitimate owner. He ordered the couple to be evicted immediately and said they should show remorse and apologise to Mutumbuka.

“Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will raise up for David a righteous Branch, and he shall reign as king and deal wisely, and shall execute justice and righteousness in the land. In his days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell securely. And this is the name by which he will be called: ‘The Lord is our righteousness.’ “Therefore, behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when men shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord lives who brought up the sons of Israel out of the land of Egypt,’ but ‘As the Lord lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel out of the north country and out of all the countries where he had driven them.’ Then they shall dwell in their own land.”

Judah is a lion’s whelp; from the prey, my son, you have gone up. He stooped down, he lurked as a lion, and as a lioness; who dares rouse him up? The argument for conservation of wetlands and green belts in order preserve waterbodies in the country and in particular Lake Chivero has been reiterated over the years but ignored. The 'war' is now lost as the Zanu PF Government gave an open cheque for party-connected land barons to willy-nilly sell residential and commercial stands around Harare. A brazen example but just a drop is Longchen Plaza (run by people connected to top Gov officials) built in the world famous Monavile Wetland running adjacent to the National Sports Stadium. Lake Chivero has become a big headache for Harare Municipality as a source of water... Zimbabwe is a signatory to the Ramsar Convention to conserve wetlands but it violates the law with such impunity?
