Masala Marketeers seek action against 'drip' water

Traders at Ndola's Masala Market have called on the Zambia Compulsory Standards Agency (ZCSA )to heighten inspections on the safety of sachet water famously known as 'drip' as the country enters the hot season.

Marketeers spoken to by Radio Chimwemwe say that the K1 priced water sachets by some named brands present with a bad smell, bitter taste and are dirty .

This was after the ZCSA encouraged members of the public to shun away from buying water from questionable brands and unregistered sources.

A check by Radio Chimwemwe news at Masala Market found that most traders are still consuming sachet water regardless of the source saying they are affordable and easily available.

ZED MUSIC NOT READY FOR AI -IZRAEL

Zambia's renowned singer, song writer, producer and performer Kangwa Kapamba aka Izrael has taken a slam at the possible use of AI in the Zambian music industry.

Izrael says Zambian music still has a long way to go to incorporate AI as the country still struggles with copyright and piracy issues.

The versitile vocalist was speaking in Ndola during the coke food festival hosted by Coka Cola Beverages Zambia and emphasized on the importance of incorporating music in the new curriculum in order for young talents to be natured.

Speaking at the same event , the people's favourite legendary singer and song writer Daniel Siulapwa aka Danny Kaya encouraged young talents to always involve God as they pursue the music and arts industry, saying that is how he has managed to stay afloat.

"I have managed to excel in my career because of God's grace because singing is a calling" said Danny.

The qualified "yakumbuyo" hit maker has encouraged other artists to invest and diversify in order to go beyond the mic and let music be done as a hobby.

At an event that filled every space of the water front events center in Ndola, COCA-COLA Beverages Zambia (CCBZ) also empowered over 10 vendors as it unveiled the K2.5 million "Wina na Kapendelo ka Coke" promotion campaign which will run for 14 weeks nationwide from September 1st to November 30th, 2024.

Throughout the campaign, CCBZ will be offering over K178,000 cash and airtime weekly prizes with a total value of K2,500,000 over the 14 weeks.
