Zesco Appoint Mutafu as CEO

Zesco United have announced the appointment of Kelvin Mutafu as the new club Chief Executive Officer, taking over the mantle from James Ngoma who was acting on interim basis after the position became vacant when Ponga Liwewe left his role.
Zesco United Chairperson Patricia Muisya confirmed the development to the press , during a media breakfast held in Ndola.Muisya said the changes have been made at the club after a performance review.
Mutafu stated that his vision is to make Zesco United great again and a major contributor of players to the national team.
"I'm excited to be with Zesco United, it's important to build on what's there and make Zesco great again.Zesco is club which has been existing for over 50 years and it's legacy is there for everyone to see ,so my very big task is to bring back that legacy maybe even better than it was." said Mutafu.
Mutafu added,"Zesco needs to be the flag carrier of the national team. I would love to see Zesco , like Orlando Pirates contributed almost all the players for South Africa during the qualifications.My vision is to See Zesco supply more players to the national team, without supplying players to the national team then we are not a great club."
Mutafu previously served as CEO for Nkana FC, Chairman for Forest Rangers and Treasurer at the Football Associates of Zambia.
Muisya clarified that the contract which Mutafu has been offered is a 3 year deal performance based.She also explained that Mathews Shebeleza Ndhlovu has been brought in to beef up the Technical bench to supplement the effort of Head coach Emmanuel Siwale.However Ndhlovu will be leading the team specifically for CAF games only.
