Honourable Godfrey Courageous Mpundu M***a further advised youths not to be carried away by worldly things but instead cultivate a deep sense of the lord as they are the future leaders in various positions in the church in the government.

Honourable M***a said it is crucial that youths focus on developing essential skills like planning, focus, self control awareness and flexibility to navigate life's challenges adding that they need to prioritize communication, teamwork, critical thinking and adaptability to thrive in an ever-changing world

Mr. M***a said the relationship with God is the foundation upon which the leadership and success will be built.

Nchelenge Town Council Chairperson his worship Honourable Godfrey Courageous Mpundu M***a has assured the church that his office is committed to supporting God's work whenever possible saying it recognizes the vital role the church plays in the community's spiritual growth and development.

Speaking at the fundraising music concert organized by the Grace Ministries Mission Church, Honourable M***a urged everyone to support God's work through it's leaders spiritually and financially whenever possible.

Honourable M***a said that the fundraising music concert is a testament to the power of unity and collective effort as spiritual music has the ability to uplift, inspire and bring people together.

He encouraged church choirs, praise singers and musicians to continue spreading the word of God through songs and urged the other church mother bodies to emulate the exemplary initiative of fundraising for the church through music concerts saying a unity of purpose and collaboration are essential in the shared mission to serve the lord.

Honourable Mpundu M***a further appreciated the people of Nchelenge District for their unwavering support that they have continued rendering to him as their elected representative at local level adding that their trust and confidence in him are a source of strength and inspiration.

The Nchelenge Town Council Chairperson reviewed that as the people's servant, he is committed to serving them with integrity, transparency, passion and accountability and urged citizens to feel free to advise and correct him whenever necessary saying that their feedback is invaluable in ensuring that he remains focussed on the collective vision of developing Nchelenge District as a whole.

38 year old Nchelenge ex-convict sentenced to 72 months’ imprisonment.

The Nchelenge Magistrates Court has sentenced a 38 year old ex-convict to 72 months’ imprisonment with hard labour for stealing laptops and cellphones worth 57,650 Kwacha.

ZANIS reports that Resident Magistrate Luckson Mbewe jailed Joseph Kalasa after he readily pleaded guilty to the charge of Burglary and Theft contrary to section 301 (a) and 272 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.

Particulars of the offence are that in the night of 9 October, 2024 in Nchelenge District, Kalasa broke into the house of Anthony Mwila with intent to steal and did steal two laptops, a Samsung tablet and an Infinix phone altogether valued at 57, 650 Kwacha therein, the property belonging to complainant.

Kalasa readily pleaded guilty to the charge.

Presenting written facts, state prosecutor Kennedy Chimbali informed the court that Kalasa was a perpetual offender who had committed and got incarcerated for similar offences before.

And in mitigation, Kalasa pleaded with the court to exercise leniency on him stating that he was a sole breadwinner of the family stating that his wife and children will suffer if he was committed to a custodial sentence.

But in passing judgement, Magistrate Mbewe noted that Kalasa did not reform and learn from his previous imprisonment.
