MUSLIMS MAKING A DIFFERENCE
Meet Majid Adams Mulenga, a Muslim brother whose journey from humble beginnings in Chawama, Lusaka, to a leadership role in Zambia’s biggest hospital the University Teaching Hospitals (UTH), Cancer Diseases Hospital.
Growing up in Chawama (Kuku Compound) he drew inspiration from the many Muslim community leaders and the likes of the Ayami brothers, Majid Adams learned the values of perseverance, community, and service. These values have guided him through his career, culminating in his role as Executive Officer at Zambia's Only Oncology Centre the Cancer Diseases Hospital, where he oversees vital administrative operations.
With 10 years of public service experience, Majid has not only excelled professionally but also served as the President of the NIPA Public Administration and Human Resource Association, mentoring others and promoting leadership excellence in the profession of Public Administration and Human Resource Management.
Brother Majid ’s journey reflects the teachings of Islam and the Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him):
“The best of people are those that bring the most benefit to the rest of mankind"
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) emphasized the value of empowering youth in leadership. He said,
"Take advantage of five before five: your youth before your old age..."
This Hadith reminds us that youth is a time for responsibility, growth, and making impactful contributions to society.
His story is a testament to the power of faith, hard work, and the belief that no matter where you start, you can achieve greatness and make a difference.
May Allah (SWT) bless him with continued success, guide him in his efforts to serve others, and make him a source of inspiration for all.
Ameen.
