EVRRY PRESIDENT NEEDS A DICKSON JERE!!

They say loyalty defines a man and Mr Dickson Jere former press aid to late Rupiah Bwezani Banda fits well in this old adage. Mr Jere had remained loyal to president Banda even when RB lost power to president Sata in 2011. It's really painful to say goodbye to your boss, a friend and a mentor. We can feel Mr Jere's pain looking at picture number two, he was the right handman for RB .In most interviews concerning Zambian football , president Banda refused to do any interviews without Mr Jere being around him. We have alot to learn from this Kind of loyalty which is so rare to find in our generation, loyalty even in death🙏🏽.

We feel your pain Mr Jere and our prayers are with you, may God comfort you and your family. Thank you for showing us this perfect example of pure love and unquestionable dedication to service. May the God Almighty reward you for all you have done to president Banda and to this great nation of Zambia.

We salute you son of the soil🙏🏽👏👏👏

DEVIL'S POOL (VICTORIA FALLS) ZAMBIA

Victoria Falls is a stunning spectacle however you view it. Whether it’s from the bottom of the gorge, from spray-doused Knife Edge Bridge, or from the comfort of a plane or chopper. But when it comes to a breathtaking immersive experience, nothing is quite so full-on as a dip in Devil’s Pool. This oddly becalmed 3m/10ft-deep natural pool stands right on the edge if the abyss, separated from the raging white water by the narrowest of rock lips.

Where is Devil’s Pool located?

Devil's Pool is on the Zambian side of Victoria Falls. It stands almost midway across the mile-wide waterfall, close to Livingstone Island. It is accessible only on guided boat tours operated by Tongabezi Safaris. These leave from a launch on the Zambian bank of the Zambezi upstream of the falls.

Do you need to be fit to reach Devil’s Pool?

No. But you should ideally be able to swim. Medium to strong swimmers head to the Devil’s Pool from Livingstone Island, swimming upstream for a short distance then back downstream into the pool itself. Weak swimmers can wade from the island to the pool, provided they don’t mind being submerged waist-deep. In both instances, experienced guides are there to instruct and, if necessary, assist. There’s nothing preventing non-swimmers from wading across either, but they are at slightly greater risk.

What are the best months to visit Devil’s Pool?

The only way to access Devil’s Pool is seasonal boat tours to Livingstone Island. These operate for seven months of the year, i.e. June to December. They include an optional dip in the pool, but only when the Zambezi is low enough to swim there safely. This is usually from mid-August to end December, with access being most reliable in October and November, when the flow is weakest. Be aware, however, that seasonal levels vary from one year to the next, depending on how much and when it rained further upstream. The pool is closed to tourists when the flow is dangerously high, usually from 1 January to sometime in August.

Is Devil’s Pool safe to visit?

Essentially, yes. Minor accidents have occurred on the slippery rocks, but so far as we’re aware there have been no fatalities on any organised tour. Assuming you don’t actively court disaster, there is no significant risk of being swept over Victoria Falls. The short swim or wade across is also safe, provided you obey the guide’s instructions. A less obvious cause for concern is the hippos and crocs that lurk in the Zambezi upriver of the waterfall. On the whole, however, these creatures are too sensible to come close to the waterfall, and the guides will scan the water carefully before allowing guests in.

POLICE ARREST FORMER PF CADER MAXWEL CHONGU FOR UNLAWFUL WOUNDING

29th December,2021 -Police have charged and arrested M/Maxwell Chongu aged 40 of house number 1223 Sugar Street Avondale for two counts of Unlawful wounding.

It is alleged that on 4th March 2017,the accused did unlawfully wound M/Richard Sinonge aged 37 by inflicting a deep cut on his left ankle and M/Innocent Nyambe aged 32 a deep cut on the stomach whilst using a machete.

The two victims were attacked by the accused in North-mead area near Total filling Station.

He is in police custody and will appear in court soon.

THANK YOU MR PRESIDENT FOR PAYING RETIREES, NOW PAY CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS

The news that funds have been released to pay part of the pension arrears owed to retirees is welcome. It will undoubtedly help lift thousands of our old men and women who served this country in the public service out of their misery.

As much as this development is welcome, we wish to implore President Hichilema to expedite the payment of payment of debts owed to contractors and suppliers.

Payments to pensioners and poor people is an ongoing government programme which even the PF administration prioritized. The Former Finance Minister Hon. Bwalya Ngandu managed to dismantle half of the historical arrears owed to retired civil servants through regular payments.

Mr. President, as much as you would like to be praised for paying them, we wish to remind you that your government has an obligation to pay former government workers and so when such is done, it is not miraculous.

However, your continued failure to pay contractors and suppliers is harming the economy adversely.

The cash squeeze and liquidity issues that the majority of our people are feeling is because the bulk of cash which should be circulating in the economy is held up at treasury.

Failure to pay contractors and suppliers is detrimental to the economy and should be addressed urgently.

Some of these contractors and suppliers attached their properties to obtaining the loans they used to finance the orders to supply. It is therefore unfair to keep holding on to their payments on the pretext of conducting an audit which has produced no tangible results. They risk losing their houses, land and other valuable assets which they used as collateral because of your failure to pay them.

Mr. President Sir, please pay the local contractors and suppliers and get the wheels of the economy turning again.
