The lesson

Years ago, while working as a sales guy in a shop, a well-known music producer walked in. Excited to meet him, I approached and said:

Me: “You’re my inspiration! Can I ask, what sound card do you use when producing music?”

He looked at me, paused for a moment, and replied:

Him: “Even if I told you, you wouldn’t be able to afford it.”

Those words cut deep, but they stuck with me.

Fast forward ten years. That same producer contacted me, seeking my services. He didn’t recognize me as the young man he once dismissed. After discussing his project, he asked:

Him: “Can you offer me a better price?”

I politely declined, explaining that my quotation was a fair reflection of my work’s value. Unfortunately, he couldn’t afford it.

This story isn’t about grudges; it’s a reminder of the importance of humility. Treat everyone good no matter what. You never know where life will lead or who might cross your path again.
