TEARS OF JOY: Davies Chishala, a man accused of murder over 10 years ago, has been set free via an acquittal during a special court session to honour Judge Evans Hamaundu who has retired.

This Supreme Court appeal judgment by Justice Hamaundu was his last, delivered during a special session held on his 65th birthday.

Egyptian football star Mohamed Salah has reportedly been offered close to $80 million to tempt him to leave Liverpool for two seasons in Saudi Arabia. If confirmed, Salah's contract would break Cristiano Ronaldo's world record deal. Salah is currently in his last season at Liverpool but the lure of a salary that is reportedly about double his current one at the English club might be hard to resist. Salah has reportedly entered negotiations with Saudi's Al-Hilal club to secure his transfer.

DRAMA CONTINUES - PF SG CALLS FOR MATERO PARLIAMENTARY SEAT TO BE DECLARED VACANT-

The Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General, Morgan Ng’ona, has petitioned the Constitutional Court to declare the Matero Parliamentary seat vacant, following the expulsion of its incumbent MP, Miles Sampa.

In his submission, Mr. Ng’ona has argued that Mr. Sampa was officially expelled from PF on July 3, 2024.

He has further revealed that the party promptly informed the Speaker of the National Assembly of the development on July 3 and 4, 2024 but despite this, no action has been taken to vacate the seat.

Mr. Ng'ona has since asked the court to compel the National Assembly to immediately declare the seat vacant and formally notify the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) to facilitate a by-election.

According to Martins Drift Acting Station Commander Assistant Supritendent Uyapo Koketso, on the 14th of this month, South Africa Border Control Authorities suspended their operations until further notice, and Botswana had to followsuit.

Lusaka woman Sylvia Mutoba Kalaba who was found with a skeleton of her husband (George Kalaba) has vehemently denied killing him. She said her husband died of natural cause (he was asmatic) adding that she kept his skeleton so that it can be helping her to perform miracles as she is a prophetess. "I was advised by a ritualist in Tanzania to do this inorder to perform countless miracles and make money as I am a prophetess and through this, I have helped lot of people who have been flocking to my house of prayer to receive financial breakthrough and other miracles, she told police. She is still in police cells together with her children.
