‼️LEWA BEATS LEO FOR FIFA BEST‼️

Robert Lewandowski won the Best FIFA Men's Player Award for the second time in a row, beating Lionel Messi and Mohamed Salah

Lewandowski won the FIFA Club World Cup with Bayern Munich early in 2021, followed by another Bundesliga title. He was also pivotal in his country's World Cup qualifying campaign, scoring eight goals in as many games.

🔴Meanwhile, Putellas has been crowned the winner of The Best FIFA Women's Player for her exploits for Barcelona.

The 27-year-old was at the heart of Barca's Primera Division, Copa de la Reina and Champions League successes in 2021.

🔴Chelsea hero Mendy won the best goalkeeper in the men's game beating Manuel Neuer and Gianluigi Donnarumma.

🔴Lyon and Chile star Christiane Endler was the first winner to be announced, picking up the The Best FIFA Women's Goalkeeper trophy.

🔴Former Tottenham player Erik Lamela was given the award for the best goal of the year (Puskas) for his rabona effort in the North London Derby against Arsenal in March.

🔴The Denmark national team and its medical and coaching staff have been honoured with the Fair Play Award for their reaction to Christian Eriksen’s cardiac arrest during their Euro 2020 match.

The attacking midfielder collapsed during the clash with Finland and the quick response of his team-mates and the medical staff's efforts to save his life saw them all earn praise from football fans around the world.

🔴The Denmark and Finland supporters were also announced as the winners of the FIFA Fan Award because of their actions around the horrifying incident.

🔴The award for the Best FIFA Men's Coach was given to Chelsea coach Tuchel. The German manager took over as Chelsea boss last year and helped them to the Champions League crown in 2021.

🔴It was a double win for Chelsea, as women's team manager Emma Hayes was named the women's coach of 2021.

She guided Chelsea to success in the FA Women's Super League and FA Cup in 2021, while also reaching the Champions League final, where they lost to Barcelona.

"ITS SEVEN! AS MESSI CLAIMS YET ANOTHER BALLON DOR AWARD"

Ballon d’Or record holder Lionel Messi added another Ballon Dor to his cabinet as he won the men’s 2021 Ballon d’Or at an awards ceremony in Paris on Monday evening.

Messi, beat his closest rival Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski to collect the prize and move two clear in his long running battle with five-time winner Cristiano Ronaldo, who was among the 30 players shortlisted but did not feature in the top three for the first time in 11 years.

Lewandowski can feel hard done by after another stellar year of goalscoring for Bayern Munich saw them retain the Bundesliga title scoring a record 41 Bundesliga goals, but perhaps suffered at the ballot box from not enjoying more success with his country. The 33-year-old was expected to win his first Ballon d’Or last year but the award was cancelled due to the pandemic.

Despite Messi having one of his less impressive periods at club level whilst playing for Barcelona as they finished third in La Liga and fell in the first knockout round of the Champions League He was poised to be the favourite to collect the award after winning the Copa America with Argentina earlier this year his first major international trophy, he emerged top scorer, top assist and player of the tournament.

He also scored two goals as Barca won the Copa del Rey final and he was La Liga’s top goalscorer before switching to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Lewandowski picked up the consolation prize of the newly formed Striker of the Year award, while the Women’s Ballon d’Or went to Barcelona captain Alexia Putellas.

Further awards went to Gianluigi Donnarumma for the Yashin Trophy of best goalkeeper.

Barcelona midfielder Pedri as the starlet was handed the Kopa Trophy.

Chelsea football club won the Club of the Year for their on-pitch achievements with both men’s and women’s teams.

"SERBIA BEATS CR7'S PORTUGAL AS THEY QUALIFY TO THE WORLD CUP"

Serbia who had never beaten Portugal in any competition stunned the home team by beating them 2-1 in their back yard.

Portugal only needed a draw for them to qualify whilst Serbia needed a win.

Serbia came from a goal down, scored the equalizer in the first half before ensuing a disaster for Portugal as Serbia's Mitrovic who was a villain last year 12th November 2020 in the European Qualifier missing a penalty, a miss that cost his team to qualify to the Euros this time was the hero as he scored a last minute winner for Serbia to finish top of the group and steal the automatic World Cup qualification spot.

Portugal will now need to win 2 single-leg play-off rounds to qualify for Qatar.

Patson Daka came off the bench to break his goal drought by scoring his first Premier League goal, in Leicester City's 4-2 win over Ronaldo's Manchester United to become the first Zambian player to score in the English Premier league and against Manchester united.

The 23-year-old replaced Nigeria's Kelechi Iheanacho in the 77th minute and he wrapped up the hosts' emphatic victory in stoppage time.

Patson Daka's Leicester City beat Premier League champions Manchester City to win the 2021 Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Saturday, the second in the club's history.

With the game still tied 0-0 and looking like it was heading for a shootout, Iheanacho drew a foul on Man City defender Nathan Ake and the referee pointed to the spot before the Nigeria international converted his penalty.

Scottish Premier league champions Glascow Rangers' summer signing Fashion Sakala presented himself to the big stage on his debut in fashion style against Real Madrid whom they beat 2-1 in a preseason friendly. Rangers were also celebrating 150 years of existence.

The Zambian skillful striker, was a menace to Real Madrid defense with his trickery, pace and he carved out numerous chances and eventually scoring a deserving equalising goal in the 55th minute canceling out Rodrygo's 8th minute early goal.

It will be an ominous warning for the other Scottish Premiership sides as Rangers begin their title defence on Saturday against Livingston.

"SHEPOLOPOLO DRAW IN A 8 GOAL THRILLER AS BARBRA BANDA SCORES ANOTHER HATTRICK"

Zambia's Barbra Banda scored a hattrick to salvage a point against China in the Tokyo group F game.

China drew first blood before Zambia equalised and it was raining goals in Tokyo. China were leading 3-1 at one point but Zambia fought with tooth and nail with Barbra in the thick of things, outsmarted the Chinese defense with her pace and skill and brilliantly scoring a hattrick in fine fashion.

She has now become the first female player to score back-to-back hat-tricks at the Olympics.
