SABAO UNVEILS OVER K5 MILLION CDF LOANS AND GRANTS

CHIKANKATA - Chikankata Member of Parliament Jacqueline Sabao has unveiled the 2023 Constituency Development Fund (CDF) loans and grants totaling about K5,103,710.00 million.
Speaking during the handover ceremony of 2023 CDF loans and grants to beneficiaries in Chikakanta, Ms Sabao said a total of K3,052,790.00 has benefited 47 deserving individuals and groups for loans.
“We are also proud to announce grants amounting to K2,050,920.00 for 52 beneficiaries furthering our commitment to fostering sustainable growth,” she said.
She said reflecting on the progress made since last year, it is gratifying to report that resilience and commitment have borne fruit in 2022.
Ms Sabao also said that in 2022 she witnessed the transformative power of CDF as it manifested in 36 loans amounting to K2,403,000.00 and 53 grants totaling to K1,953,200.00.
Ms Sabao said the impact of these funds rippled across various sectors.
The MP said the commitment to education remains steadfast and that she is delighted that through the 2022 CDF 155 Secondary Bursary's were provided.
“This is reinforcing Governments vision of ensuring that every child has access to quality education. Our investment in skills training for 134 members of our constituency,” she said.
She also said that small business, which is the backbone of Chikankata economy received a boost through empowerment grants extended to 53 entrepreneurial groups .
Ms Sabao also commended her New Dawn Administration directive that no child should sit on the floor to focus on enhancement of quality of education , infrastructure.
Meanwhile CDF chairman Edwin Kasamu has commended beneficiaries of the loans and grants and urged them to work hard.
Mr Kasamu said for those who have benefited from the loans and grants, this should not be for violence.
“Use this money for development and supplement Governments efforts,” he said.
