While writing my new book, I stumbled on a very interesting framework, which is evident among many great people. I call it the "HHR" Framework, built on three foundational "stones":

๐’๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ž # ๐Ÿ- ๐‡๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ - ๐“๐ก๐ž ๐‚๐ก๐ข๐ž๐Ÿ ๐‚๐จ๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ๐จ๐ง๐ž
Often mistaken for weakness, humility is the foundation for life-long learning. It is the unwavering ability to acknowledge your limitations with radical awareness, not with self-pity, but with a fierce determination to leverage the strengths of others. It's the wisdom to recognise yourself as a unique note in the grand symphony, beautiful on your own, but infinitely powerful when played in harmony with others. Humility does not only empower you to serve but also to receive.

This is the unceasing desire for growth, a relentless pursuit of excellence. It's the fire within you that propels you towards your full potential. It's the curiosity that ignites a passion for continuous learning, the ingenuity that allows you to overcome challenges, and the bravery to take calculated risks. "You gotta be hungry," Les Brown screams. Hunger empowers you to get what you desire by transforming your wishes into a driving obsession.

This is the power of ownership, the unwavering commitment to taking charge of your life. It's the understanding that you are the architect of your destiny, empowered to shape your journey through your choices and actions. Someone taught me these two rules: Rule No 1: When placed in charge, take charge; and Rule No. 2: When in doubt, refer to Rule No. 1. Therefore, by all means, accept 100% responsibility. Take charge! Responsibility empowers you to giveโ€”you become a contributor.

From the Brink to Brilliance: 3 Life Lessons from Ivory Coast's AFCON Glory

Congratulations to Ivory Coast on their amazing AFCON victory which offers us several life lessons.

Remember when rock bottom felt like the ceiling? Remember staring defeat in the face, questioning every step you took? Ivory Coast, the unlikely champions of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, know that feeling all too well. They stared elimination in the face, fired their coach, and even had to beg another team to win them a lifeline. Yet, against all odds, they rose from the ashes like a phoenix, their victory story echoing with powerful life lessons for us all.

Lesson 1: Rock Bottom Isn't the End, It's the Launchpad.

When life throws you a curveball, don't mistake it for a full stop. Ivory Coast didn't wallow in their early slump. They used it as fuel, a rallying cry to rewrite their narrative. Remember, challenges are stepping stones, not roadblocks. Use them to energize and propel yourself to new heights.

Lesson 2: Belief is the Currency of Champions.

Ivory Coast had faith in their potential, even when the world wrote them off. They embraced a "never say die" spirit, proving that belief is the most potent weapon in your arsenal. So, believe in yourself, and draw strength from your experiences. Your confidence is your superpower.

Lesson 3: Unity is the Wind Beneath Your Wings.

Imagine climbing Mount Everest alone. Now, imagine the whole nation supporting you, pushing you, celebrating your triumphs. Ivory Coast's win wasn't just about individual talent; it was about collective spirit. They rallied their nation, embraced a novice coach, and played for each other. We are stronger together. Seek support, build your tribe, and watch your dreams soar.

The Ivory Coast's victory wasn't just about football; it was a testament to the human spirit. It was a story of second chances, unwavering belief, and the power of unity. So, the next time you face adversity, remember the Elephants. Remember that rock bottom isn't the end, belief is your magic weapon, and together, we can achieve the impossible. Go forth, and write your own champion's story!

David secured a platform to fight Goliath based on his previous triumphs over the lion and the bear. Victims are used by their past and use it to justify the present results but creators use their past as a resource to secure a glorious future. What is it in your past that you could say, โ€œIf God could help me do this, then I can do that? With this mentality, you could turn your pain into your biggest breakthrough.

Success is not a mineral; it is not mined out of the earth but out of the unlimited wealth of ideas, concepts and insights. Therefore, donโ€™t bring a shortage mindset to it. What you can do is all you can do: no limits!

You are as old as your mind. As you develop your mind, you refresh your entire body. โ€œYour age is not what determines old age,โ€ Bishop Oyedepo argues, โ€œIf you keep your mind young by putting it to use, it will โ€˜youngenโ€™ your body.โ€

We are all born originals but many die as copies because we spend more time in environments that work so hard to destroy our sense of self. Do all you can to GET BACK YOURSELF. โ€œBe you and do you,โ€ Bishop T D Jakes says.

CULTIVATING THE 12 SENSES OF DIFFERENCE MAKERS.

PART 3 - EMBRACE A STRONG SENSE OF MISSION

A healthy sense of self will give you a sense of worth and value. You will appreciate your specialness, uniqueness, and extraordinariness. A healthy sense of self comes from a Vision (using your eyes of understanding to see yourself the way God sees you). This is very critical because it will โ€œfinanceโ€ the other senses. A person with a poor sense of self will always seek to subtract from others.

A sense of purpose relates to being conscious of the reason for your existence and being, wherever you may be now. This is true for people and organizations. โ€œIt is like a guiding star always worked towards, but never achieved,โ€ Jim Collins wrote. โ€œIt is a motivating factor, not a differentiating factor.โ€ A sense of purpose aligns your thoughts, choices, and decisions with divine purpose.

Now, while purpose is a motivating factor triggering a burning desire, passion, and a burden within you, a SENSE OF MISSION is a differentiating factor which gives you a clear and compelling overall goal that serves as a focal point for your efforts. A sense of mission empowers you to turn senses of self and purpose into energizing, highly focused goals like the four friends in the picture below who had a mission to bring their paralyzed friend before Jesus. These men were focused visionaries fueled with a strong sense of mission. When they couldnโ€™t find a way through the door, they lowered their friend in the room through the roof. Mission pushes the door of possibility open. โ€œIf you have no mission, you will live in on mission,โ€ one of my favourite pastors said.

Another example of a strong sense of mission is in the 1961 announcement by President Kennedy for NASA to land a man on the moon. While a sense of purpose is likened to a guiding star within you that is always pushing you forward but never attainable (Philippians 3:13-14), a sense of mission is the specific goal or mountain you are tackling per time. It leads you to the โ€œit is doneโ€ of vision (John 19:30). Nehemiah had a call to his people but rebuilding the wall was a mission which he pursued with a strong sense of mission and dogged resilience until he completed it.

Therefore, with a clear VISION, you will have three critical senses activated in you: a healthy sense of self; a sense of purpose, and a strong sense of mission. Abrahamโ€™s snd Jesusโ€™ stories give us a good examples.

Seek to Understand, Then to Be Understood: Embracing Empathy and Wisdom for Lasting Connection

In a nighttime conversation, God asked Solomon what he desired. Instead of requesting wealth, fame, or power to dominate, Solomon sought something rareโ€”a 'understanding heart.'

Wisdom and understanding were King Solomon's obsessions. In another biblical passage, he wrote, "...therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding."

Solomon grasped that understanding his people came at a minimal cost compared to battling them. While many aim to be understood, Solomon prioritized understanding others. He sought to think from 'within' and 'under' his people, showcasing humility at another level.

To fulfill Solomon's pursuit, God not only granted him wisdom and understanding but also bestowed a largeness of heartโ€”an often overlooked quality among leaders. Solomon embodied Wisdom + Understanding + Largeness of Heart, virtues that kept him away from conflict, allowing him to enjoy peace.

If you take away anything from this, remember: "The cost of understanding your partner or mate is minimal compared to fighting. God has gifted us the Spirit of understanding to comprehend our co-creators, His creatures, and His creation.

Therefore, make it your goal to first seek to understand, and then to be understood. As you embrace this principle, 'seek first to understand thyself, and it will be easier to understand others.' Don't forget to ask God for a large heart. While David was known as a man after Godโ€™s heart, strive to be known as one with Godโ€™s heart.

Shalom!

Happy weekend!

A LECTURE IN LEADERSHIP:

I woke up thinking about the picture of our former republican president below. Why did he sit like that on a chair in a public gathering? What was going through his mind? What burden laid heavily upon his heart? Was what he said when stood up the best for Zambia, his family, legacy, and the leadership question? Who shall be the โ€œgo toโ€ leader for the younger politicians? What does it teach me personally in leadership? Whatโ€™s the big lesson?

This picture is a mixture of politics and leadership. As a student of great leadership, my meditations are skewed towards LEADERSHIP. When you have a student mindset, the whole world becomes your library and your sanctuary. In fact, we learn more by observation than in a classroom.

This is an unfolding lecture in leadership. Listen, observe, and let the conversation within you release leadership wisdom. Donโ€™t find faults, find gaps that you can exploit to level up your own leadership skills.

Peace, unity, and prosperity within the walls of our nation. Amen!

It takes very little intelligence to see dirt, bad, and faults in people, but it takes deep insight to see good and value in them.

Using our SQ (Spiritual intelligence) we can look deep within people and see the good in them amidst the faults, and using our EQ (Emotional intelligence) we can empathize with them and find room for them instead of judging or condemning them.

While people used a โ€œlower editionโ€ of their intelligence to judge and condemn Zacchaeus,, Jesus used his SQ and EQ to count Zacchaeus among the sons of Abraham. โ€œThe badness of God never changes people forever, it is his goodness that does.โ€ I remember how the films of hell fire scared for a few days before we returned to our old ways. When I found the intensity, width, length, and height of Godโ€™s love, I got hooked forever. โ€œI have loved you with an everlasting love,โ€ God said, โ€œBefore you loved me, I loved you.โ€

Therefore, develop a capacity to see good in people, places, things, and yourself.

HAD IT NOT BEENโ€ฆ.,

Had it not been for my aunt, a teacher in practice and at heart, who rescued me early in life, I could have gone astray. Had it not been for my primary school teachers, who were patient with me , I couldnโ€™t have known how to read and write.

Had it not been for my secondary teachers who worked so hard, I couldnโ€™t have gained entry into university. Had it not been for my wife, a teacher par excellency, I couldnโ€™t have enjoyed much of the progress I have seen. Had it not for my university lecturers, I couldnโ€™t have been a proud university graduate . Above all, had it not been for the Holy Spirit, the master teacher, and his many human agents, I could not have encountered the mental revolution I have experienced. Each day I also see amazing transformations in my children because of the handwork of teachers.

Therefore, with a heart of gratitude, I say, happy teachersโ€™ day to all teachers. Thank you for your sacrifices and faithfulness to your calling. Celebrate!!

More often than not, we blame others for our failures, and lack of progress. We blame our lineage (generational cases & evil altars), our teachers, our bosses, our spouses, politicians, invisible forces, and others. I am Just imagining, how our approach to life could change if we installed this definition of success: "Success is my duty, obligation, and responsibility; No excuses, no one to blame - If it is to be, it is up to me."

Each one of us has a book titled, "LESSONS LEARNED," which we must constantly update in our own handwriting and voice. God is ever present with us in good and bad times. In good times, he manifests himself in the good things that add to the blessings we count and in bad times he manifests himself in the lessons we learn that give us an edge over such bad times when they repeat themselves in future. Therefore, both good things and the lessons account as blessings to count. This awareness empowers us to give thanks to God in all circumstances. When things go wrong, ask, "What's the lesson here." If you experience adversity ask, "is there an equivalent or great benefit in this?"

One thing that has helped me grow in leadership is keeping a book titled, "Things I will do when I become the boss, and things I will never do when I become the boss." If you experience a great boss on your way up, there are great leadership nuggets to gather, and similarly, when you experience a "bad boss", there are nuggets to note down in your heart and factor into your leadership philosophy. All things happen "FOR YOU" and not "TO YOU," because you are not a victim of circumstances but a creator of circumstances. Always remain in your place of 100% responsibility. Success is your DUTY, OBLIGATION, and RESPONSIBILITY.

Success and failure both leave clues. Therefore, gather lessons and convert them into wisdom for your future actions. If you can pick lessons from your failure, you haven't failed. Pick yourself up and go again in a bigger way. Bring your lessons along to every new endeavour.

Now, "WHAT ARE THE MAJOR LESSONS YOU HAVE LEARN'T IN YOUR VARIOUS LIFE ENCOUNTERS?, IS YOUR BOOK UPDATED?"

IT SHALL COME TO PASS!

"And then God answered: โ€œWrite this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to whatโ€™s coming. It aches for the comingโ€”it can hardly wait! And it doesnโ€™t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. Itโ€™s on its way. It will come right on time."

It's amazing how time flies. I did the interview below with Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) in 2016 and I am happy that I have delivered on some of the commitments I made. For instance, from one book then, Divine Encounter, I have written 5 more books and they are all published on Amazon, a fit that looked far fetched at the time.
