CHISAMBA BOY ELECTROCUTED TO DEATH
A two-year-old boy in Chisamba District of Central Province has been electrocuted to death.
Ignatius Mulesu of Chawama Compound met his fate on Monday at about 09:00 hours at his residence.
Chisamba District Commissioner Joel Mboyoma and District Health Director Gideon Panja have both confirmed the development in separate interviews with ZANIS in Chisamba.
Mr. Mboyoma said the incident happened when the boy, who was answering the call of nature, unknowingly touched a live hanging string cable which was connected from the house to a pole.
He said the boy died on the spot and attributed the sad incident to poor electrical connection of the power line to the house.
"We wish to convey our deepest condolences to the bereaved family on the untimely death of their son. I wish to advise the community to ensure that children do not play with wires that are connected to electricity poles. ZESCO is also requested to be checking through to make sure that houses that are connected to power are connected safely to avoid losing lives,” Mr Mboyoma said.
