Hello everyone! Update from: Inspired Routes

In the previous months we have been navigating the wonders (and challenges) of being business owners and entrepreneurs with our own tour operator.

It all of the years guiding and in destination management, we have take the time to create and curate itineraries (now in our website) that we really believe in. A combination of: stunning destination, more inclusions, hidden gems and value for money.

In April 2025, I am personally leading a 9 day trip to Peru, it will take you to: Lima, Cusco the Sacred Valley, we will hike the Inca Trail and visit Machu Picchu!

Although we have launched the trip in South Africa, everyone is welcomed!

We just want to bring together a group of people that are:
- Outdoor enthusiasts
- Nature lovers
- Enjoy good food
- Appreciates culture
- And of course wants to CONQUER THE INCA TRAIL

We are ready to take you in an adventure of a life-time!

Please message me for more info or visit our website if you are interested.

See you there!

by GP Wentzel Being cautiously optimistic has now run its course… it is time too cautiously get back to traveling! My wife and I recently went to visit her/our family in Peru. Happy New Year! Happy 2021 everyone!

Today on the 1st of January 2021 we are so blessed to be on a plane on our (long very long) way to Peru!

It’s not about travel only this time but we are actually visiting my family, we can’t wait.

We don’t often spend time with them as we are so far from each other. We can’t wait to hug them and see them face to face!

On the other side, very interesting to travel like this, with face masks and face shields... but all good to keep people safe and healthy :)

Day 1: Cape Town to Niuewoudtville

Have you ever heard about a Quiver Tree Forest?

What about the biggest Quiver Tree in the Southern Hemisphere?

20 min outside of Nieuwodtville, hundreds and hundreds of these amazing trees. You can only find Quiver Trees in the Northern Cape province of South Africa and Namibia.

Day 1: Cape Town to Nieuwodtville

This remote farmhouse was our home for the first night of our road trip.

Brandkop Guestfarm, it was perfect for our over night, solar power generated, quite and without any light pollution for an amazing night sky!

We love to find unique places out of the beaten path, this was definitely a gem.

The Promenade is Cape Town is such an iconic outdoors space, favorite area for the local to exercise... you can find fit people wherever you look ;)

It is definitely a favorite for us too after a long day and when we want to wind down while doing so some of activity in the open air.

Stretching over several neighborhoods in Cape Town is definitely a must if you wanted to feel the Capetonian atmosphere.

Walk, run, cycle, anything really and enjoy the salty breeze next to the ocean.

There are a few spots displaying local art like: the Blue Heads statue near Moulie Point, the Raybans from where you can see Robben Island directly, the 3D Rhino sculpture and some murals close to the Sea Point Public.

Enjoy!

What to do in Cape Town: Day 2

Lion’s Head has to be the most popular hike in Cape Town and definitely a favorite for the locals.

We have been in Cape Tow for 6 years and we hike Lion’s Head regularly, it never gets old.

Our favorite is either the early morning ones to see the sunrise (before it get too hot) or the sunset hikes which are just so stunning when you hit that golden hour at top!

Not the easiest hike but you can take it slowly and stop often to take in the views, it is an exciting hike as includes some climbing using chains and staples.

Should take about 2 hours up and down but take more time to stay on top and relax while you watch the sunset.

Take a head torch if you go in the evening and be safe!

Happy hiking!
