BusaBuntu Pictures (BBP) is a disruptive media company founded by South African Social and Creative Entrepreneur, BusaBuntu, who is one of few Qualified Creative Economists in the world. Currently BBP is in pre-production with African Dreams, the first mocku-series to star a female protagonist of African Ethnicity in global television history slated to air on the 9th of August 2021 on SABC 1. BBP is also working with Spier Films in producing the Nosipho Dumisa directed Brenda Fassie biopic slated for release in the Summer of 2022. African Dreams is our first television series and putting that DNA to work was often challenging and disruptive, which is just how we like it to be, because challenges lead to growth. In November of 2014 we participated in the London chapter of the 48HR Film Project and we made this little gem. WEDWA (2014) is a short story that looks at some of the challenges two siblings face after the loss of their mother. Siyabonga to our friend, Graham Trelfer, for his support and guidance during production. The amazing crew and cast who joined us on this 48HR adventure are all in the credits, enjoy. *Wedwa is the isiZulu word for alone, on your own or solitude. **Originally created for London's 48HR Film Project as MAMA (2014).
