It's just been proven true: if you help me by holding my flash at a friend's wedding, it's as powerful as catching the bouquet toss!

I met Andrea Dyson at her good friend's wedding a few years back, and because my assistant was busy capturing some decor for me, I roped Andrea into holding my flash for a few shots. Fast forward a couple years, and she was contacting me to capture her own special day. Needless to say, this wedding was full of familiar faces, some of the usual suspects, and even my previous bride and groom, Kevan and Candice, now part off the bridal party.

I had SUCH fun capturing this special day. The fact that it also happened to be my good friend Jo Dyson's son's wedding... well, that was the cherry on top! Enjoy the sneak peak, friends!

Happy Friday, friends!

I thought I would share a very special wedding with you today. Pete is an old family friend and so when he reached out and asked if we would capture his special day, we were overjoyed!

Pete wed his sweetheart, the kind-hearted and wonderful, Caitlyn, at the ever-beautiful Cathedral Peak Hotel. Come rain or shine, this venue is always special and because it represents a time when his family lived nearby, even more so to them. With an intimate ceremony and crazy-fun group of friends and family, their wedding day was relaxed, fun and abundantly full of love!

You know a couple are super sweet, when even the kiddies get their own gifts and nametags and even their own photo with the couple! Pete and Cait, thank you for being so kind and loving and for making us feel like family at your wedding day. May you always be blessed in your marriage and adventures - just as you are such a blessing to those around you.

There are some weddings where I almost have to pinch myself because I feel so blessed to be the one they chose to capture it all. 💗

I used to work with Jess and she would often tell me that when she finds a man and gets married, I’m the only photographer she will ever choose. One doesn’t always believe people when they say pretty things like that, but Jess is just so genuine and beautiful, I always believed her. And of course, she didn’t lie. 💗

Jess, thank you for being a woman of your word. Dane&Jess, thank you for choosing me - and thank you for giving me the space to do what I love on your special day. You guys rock!

Lushen & Dushentha nearly canceled their wedding just two days before the big day. The KZN floods had ravaged our province and made the road to their venue very difficult. But our couple had a little faith and went for it. We sure are glad they did!

No, it wasn't exactly as they dreamed it would be - guests had to take the long way around or 4x4 their way onto the farm and the ceremony venue had to be re-planned due to the impending rain. But when it's YOUR special day and you get to marry YOUR person, it's always perfect, not matter what doesn't go according to plan. And perfect it was!

Lushen and Dushentha had such a special, intimate and fun wedding. And afterwards, they were so glad that they hadn't pulled the plug when the difficult decisions had to be made. LOVE ALWAYS WINS!

We even managed to grab a handful of pics on our creative shoot inbetween the rain - double win!

Chad and Lauren are the real deal. 💙
They are absolutely, madly in love and it fills the air and sprinkles onto those around them. He's a gentleman; she's a princess. And yet they went traipsing through the mud and rain with me to get creative wedding pics. How can I not love them forever?

Goodness me!
So we survived the hacking! 🙌🏻

My amazing husband fought real-time against the hackers for over two hours yesterday and eventually managed to reclaim our Instagram account. They tried our Facebook, too, but I think were deterred by the two-factor identification. We didn’t realise we hadn’t set that up for insta🤦🏻‍♀️. Needless to say, it’s now triple factor identification. 💪🏻

It’s frightening how quickly these guys work - they were trying to sign in from Nigeria as we were trying to change passwords. Within seconds emails and passwords were changed. 😫

Please know we still won’t send you a link or ask you to open anything via messenger. These bots/hackers are still operating - be careful.

A special and intimate wedding for these two was how we closed off the 2021 wedding season. 🥰

It’s been a long time since we have worked at the Orchid House at Collisheen Estate and it was such a treat to capture the magic at this smaller venue again.

A special thanks to the wonderful team here, who really went out of their way to make sure every detail was attended to, as well as ensuring the service providers were well cared for.

It always makes the day go so smoothly when our tummies are full and thirsts quenched.

I just love me an engagement shoot!
Getting to know my couple as they get comfortable in front of the camera… the laughing and joking… the lack of time pressure. It really is just a wonderful way to get some gorgeous images you can perhaps use for your wedding stationery and also the best opportunity to get to know your photographer! 💜
