As a female adolescent pupil from Mbwili is alleged to have committed su***de after being bullied by another female student.

A video involving Lufuno and her school mates recently surfaced online and has been doing the rounds. It shows Lufuno being bullied whilst her peers just watched and cheered on the bully to continue attacking her.

It is quite sad how we have become acquainted to watching people being physically or verbally abused before our very eyes and we sit back and do nothing.

Evil prevails when good people do nothing, a young girl allegedly ended her life because as she was being physically abused and publically humiliated, her peers stood by and decided to record her moment of shame.

As society it seems that we have become accustomed to watching tragic events unfold before our very own eyes, so much so that we jump at the opportunity to capture/record the event. It seems more fun to capture the moment than to actually be in the moment, and by that I mean to offer a helping hand.

Would it have been a terrible thing if that fight had been stopped and there was no new video of a school girl fight online?
Why did the bully continue to beat her when she was not fighting back?

These are questions that we momentarily ask ourselves, but unfortunately for Lufuno’s family these are questions that will haunt them for the rest of their lives alongside with the video that drove their beloved daughter to her breaking point.

Let us break the silence, stay tuned for more conversations to be had in our campaign

Why is it always women who suffer the shame of a s*x tape?

A video of a correctional officer from Ncome Correctional Centre having s*x with an inmate has been circulating the media. In the video we see what seems to be two consenting adults taking a video of their intimate moment.

Since the video has been trending the biggest focus seems to be on the female correctional officer, despite the fact that a person in her position shouldn’t have been fraternizing with an inmate, when such things happen it is always the female who seems to catch the eye of the public but why?

A s*x tape usually consists of two or participants, but people usually take notice of one more than the other. People ask who is she, and at most times shame the woman in the video but what about the male? We talk about the lady yet we hardly know the name of the man.

Why is it seen as some sort of achievement for the male and humiliating for the female?
