Community members woke to a shocking discovery and called police. Police Divers has to be called by Ivory Park SAPS members to remove the body out of the stream. Emergency Services were also called to the scene to declare. Tembisa Police have also issued an alert regarding, robberies. [STATEMENT] Compiled by Sergeant Patricia Mgijima. Tembisa policing precinct has been experiencing sky rocketing incidents of house robberies, car hijackings, murders and rapes. This led to the Tembisa SAPS, Station Commander Brigadier Cyril Nkuna engaging with the community through Imbizos in all seven sectors in Tembisa, preaching safety, neighbourhood watch and urging community to join sector forums. The late 5 year old Ofentse Poopedi from Ivory Park Ext 2,went missing in August 2022 from Duduza Informal Settlements, Tswelopele, Thembisa where he was visiting his Great-grandmother. His body was later discovered at Midstream having multilated, brutally murdered by a 36 year old male Moses Bokaba. Although his body parts are still not discovered. The Magistrate in a Regional Court at Benoni handed the Judgement on Tuesday 12th November 2024. Mfanelo Dzanibe is the Journalist who followed the matter from start where the little boy was reported as missing, in an Exclusive interview we speak to Ofentse's family also with the mother. The incident occurred around 14:00, at R562 on the R21 North on-ramp affecting the R21 North offramp. A pedestrian was struck down by a motor vehicle while trying to cross the road and succumbed to severe head injuries and was declared deceased by paramedics upon arrival at the scene. Traffic is backed up, although the road has been opened. Metro Police Department through Media Liason Officer Thabiso Makgato, urges motorists to be vigilant and lookout for pedestrians and pedestrians to make use of the pedestrian crossings and bridges for their safety.
