Tunes - Growth in Music is a rehearsal room that provides a basic service to musicians that includes: a practise room with basic drum fascilities: Kickdrum, 2x Toms & Floor Tom, 3x Boom - and one straight cymbal stands, Hi Hat stand, snare stand & a thronel (Mapex shells and hardware). There is a 200W Yamaha 8 channel mixer amp with 2x 150W Laney speakers and a floor monitor as well as 4x vocal mics + stands & 2x cooling fans, guitar stands, amp satnds and a music stand. There are 2 amps available for hire, one 120W Laney bass amp and a 100W Marshall guitar amp, both are R15 per hour per amp. The room has been created to deliver optimal acoustics. There is also storage space available (R40 per month per item depending on size), a tuck shop with standard beverages & a little space to enjoy a cooldrink. Toilet & basin facilities are available. Goal: Tunes would like to see an upliftment in the standard of the Stellenbosch music scene, not to say that there is anything wrong with it, but an affordable rehearsal space will give musicians an opportunity to improved their music skills. Therefore creating better quality music for the public to enjoy. We encourage all Tunes bands to stock any band merchandise on our display table at Tunes Studio. Reference rehearsal recordings costs :R15 for one song. Agreement : From the 1st of May 2012, bands or musicians can obtain membership from Tunes Studio in the form of an agreement at R60 per hour. Exclusive membership entitles members to 25% discount on selected musical instruments or instrument related items and 20% of on all instrument accessories (smalls). This agreement is viable for two months and will be automatically renewed if the client did note notify Tunes Studio a month in advance that he/she wish to discontinue the agreement. Our Story

Tunes Studio is a recording and rehearsal studio that acts in the interest of local music by providing affordable practice space, excellent quality pre-production, professional album, EP, single and voice-over recordings as well as mixing, jingle writing and mastering.

Notes Music School, situated inside the Paul Bothner Stellenbosch branch serves as an extension of Tunes Studio and provides music lessons in drums, electric & acoustic guitar, bass guitar, keyboard and vocals.

Tunes Studio offers retail in music equipment and accessories courtesy of Paul Bothner Music. Whether you are looking to buy peripherals in the case of an emergency during rehearsal, or planning to place an order for an instrument or amplification, we have got you covered. Tunes is open for bookings seven days a week from 08h00 to 24h00 on Mondays to Fridays and from 08h00 to 18h00 over weekends.

Two rehearsal rooms with basic drum & PA facilities: Kick drum, 2x Toms & Floor Tom, 3x Boom stands, Hi Hat stand, snare stand & a throne (Mapex shells and hardware).

Each rehearsal room is equipped with an eight-channel mixer amp with 2x speakers as well as 3x vocal microphones + stands & cooling fans, guitar stands and a music sheet stand.

There are 2 amps available for hire, one 120W Laney bass amp and a 100W Marshall guitar amp, both are R20 per hour per amp.

The rooms have been created to deliver optimal acoustics.

Storage space is available at R40 per month per item depending on the size of the item.

A tuck shop with standard beverages & a chill area to enjoy a drink or a coffee to keep the artists entertained during breaks. Toilet & basin facilities are available. Goal: Tunes Studio would like to support the upliftment of the Stellenbosch music scene and raise the standards by offering affordable music services to individuals and groups.

Our affordable music services include a recording facility, rehearsal space and music lessons, giving musicians an opportunity to improve their music skills and therefore, creating high quality music for the public to enjoy.

We encourage all our rehearsal and recording customers to display any band merchandise on our display table at Tunes Studio. If your band is interested in this option, please contact Jean at +27 (82) 770 47 98. Jean Marais, owner and manager and Mark Ellis, audio engineer are available for live and studio freelance work in drums and percussion as well as bass and electric guitar.
