Today's HERO is Mr Molefi Nyofane

Mr Molefi Nyofane is aninformation librarian at the APK Campus Library. His indigent background and religious convictions have
shaped his empathetic spirit and he passionately believes that education is the key out of poverty.
Molefi assists Grade 11 and 12 learners. He helps students gain entrance to university, guides them on how to take examinations, how to apply for financial assistance and assists students with
which courses to choose.

The project began by Mr Nyofane going to schools in Phuthaditjhaba to invite learners to experience university for a day. Each year since 2008, he went back to tutor Grade 12
learners on how to take the final examination.

He returned to the township each January to bring learners with university entrance passes to register at various tertiary institutions in Gauteng, with UJ taking in the largest number of
learners. Mr Nyofane was subsequently motivated to form an organization– Macro Informative Youth Agency(MIYA)-to give formality to the project.
