“We are in this ceremony today to honor and celebrate Princess Magogo, who was a Choral Music Soloist and a daughter of the late King Dinuzulu kaCetshwayo.” Said the Minister

According to Honorable V F Hlabisa, “To continue Princess Magogo’s music legacy, we as Africans need our own composers.”

2ND PRINCESS MAGOGO CHORAL MUSIC FESTIVAL TAKING PLACE AT UMFOLOZI HOTEL CASINO, EMPANGENI.

Mr Bongani Tembe , chairperson of the choirs stated that the Philharmonic Orchestra had supported the Princess Magogo Choral Music Festival from its inception. He explaining that they believed in music's power to unite society, thereby promoting nation-building and social cohesion.

Mr B. Tembe highlighted their desire to honor Princess Magogo, a renowned poet and singer. The festival served as a platform to showcase KZN's talent. Additionally, he mentioned that the Orchestra was established by the KwaZulu-Natal government 41 years ago, making it one of South Africa's oldest and most prestigious orchestras.

Mr. Tembe expressed gratitude to KZN for their financial support and also thanked the KwaZulu-Natal Musician Philamony

2ND PRINCESS MAGOGO CHORAL MUSIC FESTIVAL TAKING PLACE AT UMFOLOZI HOTEL CASINO, EMPANGENI.

The Honourable Mayor of King Cetshwayo District Municipality, SZ Dlamini, expressed his immense pride in celebrating Princess Magogo kaDinuzulu's life and musical legacy.

In his speech, he humbly acknowledged that he couldn't take credit for its inception. Instead, he recognized His Majesty King Misizulu Kazwelithini, the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi of KwaPhindangene, and Honourable T. Ntuli, then District Mayor of KCDM and Premier of KZN, for establishing this musical celebration three years ago

The event honoured Princess Magogo's legacy in developing and preserving indigenous music. It aimed to educate the community about her pivotal role in the choral music industry, where she Resuscitated choral music and Created platforms for artists to showcase talent and creativity.
“ In memory of her deep love and affection it is a great pleasure for us as KCDM to keep alive the union of this magnificent Authority on traditional Zulu music”

HIS WORSHIP THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF UMHLATHUZE HONORABLE CLLR X NGWEZI’S COMMENT ON THE OFFICIAL OPENING OF THE NEW ROUTE AT ALTON.

The Mayor said that this road connects bus stops, taxi ranks, the whole city and malls. The amount of money spent to build this 2km road is R149 Million. This road is not for the benefit of vehicles and people only but also to decrease the capacity of vehicles driving through the town unnecessarily.

The Mayor explained that as this place had been chosen for this huge infrastructure, it will create job opportunities. The Industrial Development Zone (IDZ) Company has been given land for 35 years, there is a company that will build main water distribution pipes.

There is a hospital sponsored by one of the companies in Richards bay South 32 that will be built near this road. South 32 donated R100 million for the hospital which will serve Aquadene clinic, Umhlathuze Clinic and MeerEnSee Clinic. Job opportunities will be available for this project.

Deputy Minister of Transport Mr Mkhuleko Hlengwa, said that the City of Umhlathuze’s road opening project is part of the National Government Council’s financial planning which includes the Integrated Urban Development Grant (IUDP), Municipal Infrastructure Grant (MIG) and Provincial road maintenance.

“The GNU started a program called SALGA Working Group for Departments including the Transport Department. The Departments work with SALGA to ensure higher quality service delivery for municipalities development.” said the Deputy Minister of Transport Mr Mkhuleko Hlengwa.
