Daniel Shelley is an accomplished Aerial Cinematographer & Flight Operations Manager.

Starting on film sets at 15, Daniel brings over a decade of experience in filmmaking. As a filmmaker, he has also grown into the RPAS aerial cinematography field. As a CAA Registered RPAS Pilot and our Flight Operations Manager, he specializes in aerial cinematography, filmmaking, and CAA drone regulations, ensuring every project soars. His dedication to creativity and excellence drives our success in producing unique and captivating content.

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘁𝘀 - 𝗡𝗶𝗰 𝘃𝗮𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗶𝘇𝗲𝗻 🚁

Nic's career as a Cinematographer and DOP began in 2006. When he started flying drones as an FPV specialist, he quickly identified the value of combining the passion he has for creating beautiful visual images with his exceptional ability to fly, not only FPV drones, but also a full range of drones from single op Mavic’s, to dual op Inspire 3’s as well as the heavy lift Alta’s.

Nic’s talents are sought after across the globe, and when he is not in South Africa Piloting and Operating with Hamman Drones on the biggest productions, he can be found on a remote island creating magic on US Survivor, where he has twice been nominated for an Emmy as part of the cinematography team.

Back at home, as a Hamman Drones Pilot, he is our Head of Operations in Cape Town.

Meet Timothy Hamman, the aerobatic ace and FC Hamman’s son! With four South African Championship titles under his belt, Timothy's exceptional flying skills and precision have made him a household name. As a heavy-lift pilot, he's in high demand, and his charisma has won over clients and fans alike. Timothy's talent and charm have earned him Rockstar status in the industry - he's the pilot everyone wants on their team!

Most people don’t realize that Timothy is deaf and has a double cochlear implant - but none of that makes an ounce of difference to his talent and skill.

It all starts in 2008, when a remarkable father-son duo, FC and Timothy Hamman, made history by both becoming South African champions in radio-controlled aerobatic flying. Four years later, their passions for filmmaking and radio-controlled flying converged, leading to the founding of Hamman Drones in 2012.

Since our early days, we've evolved into a global powerhouse, boasting a talented team of drone specialists who have worked on numerous high-profile productions in film and television. Our capabilities now extend to deploying multiple elite teams simultaneously, all expertly trained through our Drone Academy. We're proud to be a trusted partner for top productions worldwide, delivering exceptional results with precision and flair.

From the UK, Nikki Smith has extensive experience across high level TV & Film production environments dating back to the early 1990’s.

She made a name for herself as a Technical Director and Vision Mixer across live studio programming for the biggest studios until she switched her attention to the Production side of things.

Nikki has an overall understanding of TV & Film production at the highest level having working extensively across various international projects.

Matthew Gray has been successfully producing multiple genres of world class broadcast content in South Africa and Sub-Saharan Africa for over 20 years.

A proud African, always striving to be better than he was the day before, Matthew is constantly looking to innovate beyond in everything he attempts as a producer. He is proud to have produced on some amazing shows such as The Apprentice SA, Big Brother Africa, Project Fame East Africa, Clash of the Choirs South Africa, Coke Studio Africa, Ultimate Braai Master and many more.

Understanding the great value that quality content represents, he always strives to inspire through the work he produces.

FC Hamman is recognised as an award winning Director of Cinematography (SASC). Known by his initials ‘FC’ (and seldom accorded his full name of FC Hamman) probably his most reassuring characteristic is that his approach is always client focused.

FC’s aim is always to interpret his client’s vision in a manner which produces powerful and effective visuals, which informs and inspires. A powerful streak of pragmatism ensures that he always brings projects in on time and within budget. His wealth of experience ensures the best possible creative outcome for his clients.

But at the core is a creative ability which has resulted in work for the big names in the film and television industry such as Netflix, Apple, HBO, Amazon, Universal,
Disney, and many major ad agencies and production houses.

Although we constantly invest in the latest and greatest equipment, at Hamman Drones we realise that the most important thing is not the equipment we fly, but to tell our clients visual story in the most creative and effective way.

We are not just Drone Operators; we live for that special moment that happens in the frame. Passion drives the process so we can go out and create those WOW moments that you are paying for.

Our strength is to go out and do excellent Second Unit Work. The Director can just give us his shot-list and we will go out and come back with more than you hoped for - those emotive goose-bump moments, that money cannot buy.

You may not know this, but Timothy is completely deaf in both ears and operates with a cochlear implant.
